Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s presence on the official website of the royal family has sparked controversy, as 97% of British citizens are urging for their removal.
Despite stepping down as senior working royals, the couple’s profiles on the website still mention their royal patronages and residence at Frogmore Cottage, leading to calls for an update or complete removal of their biographies.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams emphasized that these profiles do not accurately reflect current events and should be addressed promptly.
Notably, the profiles of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been moved to the bottom of the page, positioned below the profiles of the Duke of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent.
At the top of the page, the profiles of the King and Queen take precedence, followed closely by the Prince and Princess of Wales.
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh’s profiles are next in line, succeeded by Princess Anne, Princess Alexandra, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and finally the Duke of Kent.
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Prince Andrew have been significantly downgraded, appearing at the very bottom of the page.
Since their decision to relocate to the United States, Harry and Meghan have made few appearances in the UK.
Harry returned on a handful of occasions last year to attend court cases, his father’s coronation, and the Well Child Awards in September.
However, Meghan has not been seen since the late Queen’s funeral in September 2022.
Moreover, they no longer serve the monarchy and relinquished their military appointments and patronages in February 2021.
It was confirmed at that time that they would not resume their roles as working members of the royal family.
In a recent poll conducted by express.co.uk, readers were asked whether they believed Prince Harry’s profile page should be removed from the royal website.
The overwhelming majority, 97%, responded with a resounding “yes.”
While the exact number of participants in the poll remains undisclosed, the results indicate strong support for removing Harry, his consort, and their potential children from the website.
Many individuals argue that it is only logical to remove unemployed members who no longer represent or work for the royal family from an official platform.
Harry’s presence on the website is viewed by some as a mere formality, lacking substance or relevance.
He is essentially rendered insignificant, which is a profound insult given his position.
Ultimately, Harry has become persona non grata through his own actions.
Therefore, he should be listed alongside other non-working royals, such as Prince Andrew, without any mention of titles.
Additionally, his wife and children should not be named or titled.
If King William were in power, he would have swiftly put an end to these petty controversies.
The website would feature no pictures of Harry or Meghan, but instead a statement wishing them well in their chosen life overseas, without any royal titles, aligning with their previous desires.
