Although they were unable to publicly wish Charles a happy birthday, the Sussex family conveyed their well wishes in private.
Following the recent passing of Queen Elizabeth II, media sources have confirmed that Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, the son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has officially become a prince, more than a year after his mother’s claim that he was denied the title due to his race.
Additionally, Lilibet Lily Mountbatten-Windsor, Charles’ younger sister, has been bestowed the title of princess following her grandfather’s ascension to the throne.
It is possible that Archie and Lilibet had a video call with King Charles, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex currently reside in California.
However, Charles celebrated his first birthday without the presence of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, who sadly passed away in September at the age of 96.
Over the weekend, Charles observed Remembrance Day alongside his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, as the nation paid tribute to fallen soldiers.
Prince William, Middleton, Prince Edward, Sophie, and Princess Anne also attended ceremonies honoring the deceased warriors.
Notably absent were Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who have been living in California with their two children.
Tensions between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Charles have been escalating since their resignation from royal duties in 2020.
Despite Markle’s attempt to reconcile by requesting a private meeting with the King, it seems that no peace offerings have been made.
It is worth mentioning that Lilibet celebrated her first birthday on June 4, 2022, and received birthday messages from King Charles, his wife Camilla, and other senior royals, which were shared on social media platforms.
Interestingly, Prince Harry and Meghan chose not to publicly address the situation on their Archwell website, which was last updated on Sunday.
