After months of speculation, it has been confirmed that Prince Harry will be attending the coronation of his father, King Charles, next month.
The ceremony is set to take place at Westminster Abbey on May 6th.
However, Harry’s wife Meghan Markle will remain at their home in California with their two children.
In recent years, Harry has been open about his strained relationship with the royal family.
In his controversial Netflix documentary and autobiography, Spare, he shed light on the challenges he faced within the monarchy.
Despite this, Harry will stand alongside other family members, including his estranged brother Prince William, sister-in-law Catherine, and Queen Consort Camilla, on the momentous day.
Both Buckingham Palace and Archwell, Harry and Meghan’s foundation, announced their plans for the coronation earlier today.
Interestingly, the statements released by both parties were almost identical, with one key phrase missing from the Archwell statement.
While Buckingham Palace expressed their pleasure in confirming Harry’s attendance, Archwell did not include such sentiment.
Buckingham Palace’s statement read, “Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the coronation service at Westminster Abbey on the 6th of May.
The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”
On the other hand, Archwell’s statement simply stated, “The Duke of Sussex will attend the coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May the 6th.
The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”
The absence of the phrase “pleased to confirm” in Archwell’s statement has sparked speculation among social media users.
Many believe that Meghan Markle’s decision not to attend the coronation is rooted in her fear of being booed.
Some comments on social media suggested that Meghan’s ego couldn’t handle the possibility of being treated like an average attendee without any special privileges.
Furthermore, rumors about Meghan and Harry’s children have resurfaced.
One user questioned the existence of their kids, stating, “At first, I was skeptical of the rumors of their kids probably not being real, and now I’m truly starting to believe it.
The logic they’re using doesn’t make sense.
She’ll stay with Archie because May 6th is his birthday, but dad won’t.
They hide their children so much to the point of becoming weird.”
It seems that Archie’s birthday has played a role in Meghan’s decision to stay at home with the children.
Meanwhile, it is expected that Harry will make a short trip to the UK for the coronation.
While Meghan remains in California with Archie, there are speculations about an Instagram-ready birthday party for him.
Some even wagered that Archie might wear a crown during the celebration, whether it be a paper one from a cracker, a Burger King crown, or a plastic one from a party store.
Others suggested that the party might have a prince theme or be dedicated to a mini-day of service, where Archie donates his toys to a local homeless shelter.
It is worth noting that Archie and Lilibet were not formally invited to the event.
Organizers were waiting to hear if the children would be making the trip to the UK before finalizing any plans.
As the anticipation builds for King Charles’ coronation, all eyes will be on Prince Harry as he joins his family for this historic occasion.
