The website for Harry and Meghan Markle’s business venture, Archwell, has not seen any updates in nearly two months.
This comes after the couple was dropped by Spotify last week, potentially losing out on an £18 million payout.
The confirmation of their departure came in a joint statement from Archwell Audio and the streaming giant, stating that they have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series they created together.
However, the statement is conspicuously absent from the website, which still boasts about their now-defunct podcast deal.
Under an exclusive partnership, Archwell Audio was expected to collaborate with Spotify and its vast global reach of 180 million premium subscribers and 406 million monthly active users worldwide to amplify diverse perspectives and voices.
Despite this, the website’s news section, which typically publishes three to four times a month, has not been updated since May 15th.
Royal fans were quick to notice this oversight and took to social media to express their concerns.
One fan questioned the lack of updates, wondering why nothing has been posted for months.
Another noted that not only has the website not been updated, but many of its pages fail to load properly.
A third fan commented on the website’s outdated information, highlighting the fact that it still mentions their partnership with Spotify.
These observations, along with the Sussexes’ admission of dedicating only one hour per week to Archwell, lead some to believe that the couple is struggling to attract donations to their foundation.
Even royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams expressed curiosity regarding the website’s silence, suggesting that something may be brewing behind the scenes.
He speculated that an announcement from the couple could be imminent, as they face the loss of Spotify, potential rumors of losing Netflix, and now a failed attempt to trademark their podcast name.
The US Patent Office recently rejected their application, citing potential confusion with an existing brand.
Archwell, which was launched on New Year’s Eve 2020, has faced ongoing scrutiny from royal fans.
Many believe that the foundation serves as a means for the couple to receive money without having to disclose their donors.
Last month, a documentary aired by France 2 delved into the questionable practices of Archwell, revealing that the foundation spent as much on operational fees as it did on charitable giving.
Investigators even visited the Archwell offices, only to find them completely empty.
It was later disclosed that the office they claimed as their own was actually their lawyer’s office.
According to the non-profit’s 2021 tax filing, Harry and Meghan reportedly dedicated just one hour per week to the Archwell foundation, despite resigning from their royal duties a year earlier.
This amounts to a mere 52 hours of work for the entire year.
These revelations, coupled with the lack of updates on the website, have raised further questions about the couple’s commitment to their business venture.
As the future of Archwell hangs in the balance, it remains to be seen how Harry and Meghan will navigate these setbacks.
Will they be able to bounce back and regain their footing?
Only time will tell.
