In a recent interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Hannah Waddingham, the Emmy-winning star of Ted Lasso, dropped some bombshell details about Meghan Markle’s behavior during their time working together on the TV show Suits.
Waddingham, who is currently promoting her new TV special Home for Christmas, shared that she had a brief encounter with the Duchess of Sussex while filming the series.
According to Waddingham, who played a guest role as a lawyer on Suits back in 2015, her experience with Meghan was far from pleasant.
She described the former actress as rude and arrogant, displaying diva-like behavior towards everyone around her.
“She was horrible, absolutely horrible,” Waddingham expressed.
“She was snooty and snobbish, and she looked down on everyone.
She acted like she was the star of the show, even though she was just a supporting character.”
The Ted Lasso star went on to reveal that Meghan made her feel targeted and attempted to undermine her performance and confidence.
Waddingham claimed that Meghan mocked her accent, clothing, and appearance, while also giving her dirty looks and making snide remarks.
“She was so mean to me, it was unbelievable,” Waddingham lamented.
“She mocked me for being British, calling me ‘stiff upper lip.’
She said I was boring and bland, lacking talent or charisma.
She even suggested I should go back to my ‘dull’ musical theatre career.”
Not only did Meghan allegedly target Waddingham personally, but she also tried to steal scenes and upstage her.
Waddingham asserted that Meghan was envious and insecure, constantly seeking attention and feeling threatened by the positive feedback Waddingham received from directors and the cast.
“She tried to ruin my scenes and make me look bad,” Waddingham claimed.
“She would interrupt me, talk over me, or even change the script.
She’d give me wrong directions or ask me to do things against the rules.”
Waddingham admitted feeling shocked and hurt by Meghan’s behavior and expressed relief when her time on Suits came to an end, as it meant she no longer had to deal with Meghan.
“I was so glad to get out of there and to get away from her,” Waddingham confessed.
“She was the worst person I ever worked with, and I never spoke to her again.
I wasn’t surprised when I heard about all the trouble and drama she caused in the royal family.
She is a nightmare, and I feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with her.”
Despite the negative experience, Waddingham emphasized that she is content with her own career and life, unaffected by Meghan or her opinions.
She expressed pride in her achievements and awards, grateful for her fans and friends.
“I don’t need Meghan’s approval or validation,” Waddingham declared confidently.
“I have my own success and happiness.
I have a wonderful show, a lovely family, and amazing colleagues.
I have a lot of love and support in my life, and I don’t need any negativity or drama.
I’m happy, and I’m home for Christmas.”
These revelations from Hannah Waddingham offer a rare glimpse into Meghan Markle’s past, shedding light on her alleged behavior during her time on Suits.
