Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are encountering yet another obstacle as the year comes to a close, which is having a direct impact on their already declining careers.
Recent reports have revealed that Ashley Hansen, the couple’s global press secretary, has submitted her resignation after serving in the role for over a year.
An insider, whose comments were featured in a now-deleted article from the Sunday Times, shed light on Ashley’s departure from Harry and Meghan’s core team.
According to the source, Ashley had been exploring freelance opportunities independently, but unfortunately, her plans did not align with those of the Sussexes.
Despite being highly regarded by the team, Ashley faced a common challenge of clients not always heeding her advice, which hinted at underlying tensions.
Royal expert Neil Sean has now provided further insight into Ashley’s exit and the removal of the Times article, attributing it all to an incident on the red carpet.
In his latest YouTube video, Neil addressed the question of how Meghan and Harry could possibly ignore direction.
He disclosed, “Well, what we can tell you first, and as ever exclusive on the show, is that there’s been something of a fracas.”
The fracas, according to Neil, originated from an incident during a variety appearance where Meghan was asked to move along the red carpet.
Neil humorously suggested using a hook like the Muppet show to remove her swiftly.
However, the incident led to a bigger problem.
Though Ashley Hansen has refrained from making any statements so far, the reason why the Times newspaper had to remove the article from their website, and subsequently from other platforms, was due to denials from the Sussex camp.
What is known is that there is turmoil, and allegedly, Prince Harry wants Ashley to stay, believing she is doing an excellent job.
However, the source claims that Meghan is not too impressed, understandably, after the debacle on the red carpet.
In November, Meghan Markle displayed her frustration on the red carpet during a glamorous event.
While making a cameo appearance, Ashley appeared to gently nudge Meghan with her outstretched arm.
Meghan laughed and turned around to speak to the assistant without proceeding along the red carpet.
During the appearance at Variety’s Power of Women gala, Meghan assured everyone that she had been working on several exciting projects following a lack of new releases throughout the year.
However, it appears that Meghan is struggling to secure work in the entertainment industry due to the negative press surrounding her and her husband over the past few years.
According to Deadline, the Sussexes are finding it difficult to collaborate with anyone, and this is not solely because they lost their contract with Spotify.
The ongoing feud with the royal family, coupled with the gossip surrounding their marriage and lifestyle, has deterred big brands from wanting to associate with the former royal couple.
Furthermore, it seems that Meghan Markle is not receiving the movie or television roles that many people anticipated she would have by now.
She was written out of the legal drama “Suits” and distanced herself from Hollywood before she began dating Prince Harry in 2016.
As the year draws to a close, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are facing another challenge that is impacting their careers.
Their global press secretary, Ashley Hansen, has resigned after serving for over a year.
