The recent actions and moves of Prince William have seemingly contradicted the claims made by his sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, regarding the British people.
Referred to as the Prince of Hugs by his fans, the future King has been observed engaging in a series of heartwarming encounters with individuals, often embracing them.
However, Meghan Markle holds a different perspective on the people of the United Kingdom.
In the Netflix series “Harry and Meghan,” the Duchess elaborated on how hugging strangers is perceived as uncomfortable by British individuals.
Recalling a meeting with her sister-in-law Kate for the first time, Meghan shared her experience in the docuseries.
She mentioned that she was dressed in ripped jeans and barefoot, as she has always been someone who enjoys hugging.
To her surprise, she discovered that this behavior was unsettling for many Brits.
Meghan came to understand that the formalities displayed on the outside were also reflected internally within the British culture.
Harry also recounted the incident in his memoir “Spare,” describing how his brother William was taken aback when Meghan hugged him during their introduction.
He revealed that William recoiled, as it was unusual for him to receive such physical contact from someone he had just met.
Harry added that perhaps William had expected Meghan to curtsy, following the protocol of meeting a member of the royal family for the first time.
However, Meghan was unaware of this expectation, and Harry did not inform her.
Despite Meghan’s claims, Prince William’s recent actions seem to contradict her statements.
He can frequently be seen embracing people during his public engagements and outings.
It is not surprising that Meghan and Harry’s recollections are inconsistent, as Meghan has faced criticism since luring Prince Harry away from the royal institution.
A new report suggests that Meghan Markle’s relationship with the royal family is currently irreparable.
Nevertheless, a royal expert believes that there might still be a chance for reconciliation, but it would require significant effort and time on Meghan’s part if she wishes to spend another Christmas at Sandringham in the future.
In an interview with the Mirror, relationship expert Luella Alderson expressed her opinion on Meghan Markle’s relationship with the royal family.
Alderson believes that if Meghan ever hopes to stand in the same room with King Charles, Prince William, and Princess Catherine again, she has a long way to go.
The ongoing feud between Meghan and the royals has caused deep emotional pain, and Meghan seems to be shouldering much of the blame.
Alderson emphasized that the Christmas season does not feel like an appropriate time for either party to attempt reconciliation or mend their relationship.
She stated that significant work and healing must take place before any real progress can be made.
