Meghan Markle has been making efforts to reconcile with the royal family and is considering splitting her time between California and Kensington Palace, according to sources.
The Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down as a working royal in 2020 along with Prince Harry, hopes to mend her strained relationship with her husband and rebuild ties with King Charles.
To address their financial difficulties, Meghan has contemplated spending eight months of the year in Montecito, California, where the couple currently resides, and the remaining time renting an apartment in Kensington Palace.
The proposed arrangement is seen as a potential solution to repair the strains on Meghan’s marriage and facilitate a reunion with the royal family.
However, insiders reveal that King Charles has one crucial condition for this plan to be accepted: the couple must cease criticizing the royals in the media.
A source close to the matter informed Life and Style magazine that Meghan and Harry must agree not to speak ill of the royal family again, as it would be a significant embarrassment if they were to be expelled from the family for a second time.
Recent developments have hinted at a possible improvement in relations between the warring factions.
Following Harry and Meghan’s birthday phone call with King Charles last month, there was even speculation about a potential invitation to Sandringham for Christmas.
However, the release of Omid Scobie’s controversial book, “Endgame,” has likely reignited tensions within the family.
Royal expert Duncan Larkham acknowledged that while a reconciliation may seem unlikely at present, there is always a possibility for the Duke and Duchess to find their way back into the fold.
Larkham pointed to the example of Camilla, who was once widely disliked but has now become the Queen consort.
He stated, “If that’s possible, anything’s possible.
But as things stand at the moment, I’d say it’s pretty unthinkable.”
In the midst of these discussions, Meghan has already launched her latest initiative, the Archule Foundation.
The organization’s tax filings for 2022 were recently made public, and the Duchess wasted no time in introducing the Welcome Project.
This project aims to support women-led programming for Afghan women who have recently resettled, with the goal of fostering more inclusive and connected communities.
Currently, there are 11 active initiatives under the Welcome Project, spanning across various states in the US, including California, Montana, Texas, Wisconsin DC, Georgia, Massachusetts, and Virginia.
These initiatives offer activities such as sewing, cooking, hiking, photography, and swimming, all aimed at creating a sense of belonging and empowerment.
While the prospects of a royal reconciliation may seem distant, Meghan Markle remains committed to her philanthropic endeavors.
As she navigates the complexities of her personal life, she continues to make a positive impact through the Archule Foundation and the Welcome Project.
