Lizzo, the American singer and songwriter, has recently disclosed that Meghan Markle was intentionally excluded from the premiere of Beyoncé’s concert film.
The star-studded event took place in Beverly Hills on Saturday night, where Beyoncé showcased her new video titled “Renaissance” on a massive screen.
However, Meghan Markle, along with Prince Harry, was conspicuously absent from the event, effectively isolating her from the A-list audience.
The premiere event, held at the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, featured a chrome carpet and a dress code of cozy opulence.
Attendees had the opportunity to take photos on the flashy step-and-repeat, which displayed artwork from Renaissance films, and engage in various photo opportunities, including standing with Beyoncé’s famous silver course.
Many notable stars graced the carpet, including Janelle Monáe, Issa Rae, Hal Bailey, Lita Nongo, Tyler Perry, Nissi Nash, Gabrielle Union, Ava DuVernay, Lena Waithe, Kris Jenner, Robin Thede, Jeremy Pope, Leverne Cox, Marlon Wayans, Coco Jones, Beyoncé’s dancers, the L Twins, and her parents, Tina and Matthew Knowles.
The Hollywood elite gathered at the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre in Beverly Hills to catch the first glimpse of the movie based on Beyoncé’s record-breaking Renaissance tour from the summer.
According to an insider close to Lizzo, Meghan Markle had been permanently blacklisted from the event due to previous incidents where she used PR photos to steal the spotlight from Beyoncé during other concerts.
Meghan took advantage of these events to approach prominent Hollywood figures, which did not sit well with the host.
The invitations for the premiere were shrouded in secrecy, with guests receiving them just 24 hours before the event and being sent to a decoy location.
Not even Meghan’s friend, Tyler Perry, or Kris Jenner, who had previously posed with Meghan’s mother, could secure her a ticket.
Meghan Markle would have loved to attend the premiere, as it was a gathering of many A-list celebrities.
However, she was ousted from this exclusive circle.
The event showcased the strength of black Hollywood, with A-list black creatives like Ava DuVernay and Issa Rae in attendance.
Even Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry, who amusingly failed to secure an invite for Meghan, were present.
It became clear to Meghan that she couldn’t have pulled off the same act she did with Queen Bey, as this crowd would have outright rejected her and made her feel uncomfortable.
She had no prior association with the black community, and her presence would have been awkward.
This incident serves as a lesson to other celebrities, highlighting the importance of not latching onto someone without knowing more about them.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z had previously posed in front of a fabricated portrait of Meghan, but they felt deceived by her actions at the Lion King premiere and subsequent text messages during the mockumentary.
Their strained relationship was evident, as Meghan wasn’t warmly invited to their recent concerts.
