In a shocking revelation, Omid Scobie has implicated the late Queen Elizabeth II in a royal racism scandal.
According to Scobie, Meghan Markle felt insulted after being offered a black equerry.
This allegation has further intensified the ongoing controversy surrounding the British royal family.
Mr. Scobie suggests that palace aides appointed the Ghana-born Lieutenant-Colonel Nana Kofi Tumusi-Onkera to assist Meghan in an attempt to make her feel more comfortable.
However, this decision backfired as the Duchess of Sussex found it offensive.
In his book, “Endgame,” Scobie writes about how the appointment of Lieutenant-Colonel Tumusi-Onkera stood out like a sore thumb to Meghan and her friends, despite the officer’s charm and intelligence.
Lieutenant-Colonel Nana Kofi Tumusi-Onkera became Queen Elizabeth’s first black equerry in 2017, the same year Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their engagement.
Scobie highlights that the decision to offer Lieutenant-Colonel Tumusi-Onkera’s assistance to Meghan was likely due to a lack of black or non-white staff in senior positions within the palace.
Initially, Lady Susan Hussey was assigned to help Meghan with her royal duties.
However, Meghan declined the offer, prompting the palace to go to great lengths to accommodate her.
Eventually, the Duchess of Sussex was offered the mentorship of the Queen’s equerry.
This turn of events occurred after Lady Hussey made unacceptable and regrettable comments to a black domestic abuse campaigner, leading to her resignation as a lady-in-waiting in 2022.
Scobie’s claims are just the latest in a series of revelations from his controversial book, “Endgame.”
The Dutch publication that released excerpts from the book refrained from naming the senior royals implicated in the race row surrounding Prince Archie’s skin color.
However, the palace was forced into crisis talks following these revelations and is said to be considering all possible courses of action.
The allegations made by Omid Scobie have added fuel to the fire of an already tumultuous period for the British royal family.
The issue of racism within the institution has been a topic of intense scrutiny, and these latest claims only serve to deepen the public’s concerns.
