The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have experienced a series of failures in their business ventures this year, earning them a brutal nickname.
According to Kinsey Schofield, a leading royal commentator, 2023 has been the worst year of their professional lives, despite a few commercial successes.
Speaking on GB News, Schofield stated, “I think that this has been professionally the worst year of Harry and Meghan’s lives.”
Schofield also noted that the couple’s recent release of a Christmas video is out of the ordinary.
Typically, they release a video in January recapping their achievements from the previous year.
Schofield believes that this diversionary tactic is an attempt to distract from their failures and avoid starting 2024 with the label of “losers.”
While Prince Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” became the fastest-selling non-fiction book in history, and their Archewells Foundation received £950,000 ($1.2 million) in donations, their financial success pales in comparison to previous years.
In 2021, the foundation received £7.1 million ($9 million).
The Hollywood Reporter even dubbed them the biggest losers of 2023.
During a recent MBE ceremony at Windsor Castle, King Charles left former Grenadier guard Steve Watts, who has raised £3 million for charitable causes, deeply moved with his kind words.
Watts couldn’t believe the conversation he had with the king, wondering if it was all just a dream.
Meghan Markle also revealed that her son, Prince Archie, will not have his Christmas wish fulfilled this year.
Regardless of their location, Meghan and Prince Harry will apparently not be returning to the UK for the holidays.
During a Netflix panel moderated by Meghan, she shared this rare detail about four-year-old Archie, who has been kept mostly out of the public eye since the couple’s departure from the royal family.
Despite some successes, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced significant setbacks in their professional lives this year.
The couple’s attempts to salvage their reputation and move forward remain uncertain as they navigate the challenges ahead.
