Outrage has erupted after Piers Morgan, the former presenter of Good Morning Britain, named two senior members of the British royal family who allegedly expressed concerns about the skin color of Prince Archie before his birth.
The controversial revelation was made on Piers Morgan’s talk TV show and later shared with his social media followers.
The claims originated from Omid Scobie’s book, Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and The Monarchy’s Fight for Survival.
However, it is important to note that these allegations were only included in the Netherlands edition of the book, with an additional paragraph identifying the individuals.
In the English version, Scobie stated that he is aware of their identities but is legally prohibited from disclosing this information in the UK.
Piers Morgan has since expressed his own outrage over the situation, criticizing the lack of coverage by the British media.
He took to social media, writing, “I’m outraged, too, that the rest of the British media hasn’t done the same.
Why should British people be barred from knowing what Dutch people know about our royal family?”
In response, Omid Scobie denied naming any racist royals in his book and attributed the error to a translation issue in the Dutch version.
During an appearance on the Dutch chat show RTL Boulevard, Scobie stated, “The book is in several languages, and unfortunately I do not speak Dutch.
But if there are translation errors, I’m sure the publishers will have it under control.”
The publishing house, Zander Outheves, has since announced the recall and pulping of the translated version due to this explosive error.
The royal family is reportedly seeking legal advice following Piers Morgan’s claims, with Buckingham Palace considering all available options.
The Mirror reported that the royals are feeling utter dismay over the circulation of the alleged names, dismissing them as baseless.
It is worth noting that in March 2021, during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan Markle revealed that a member of the royal family had expressed concerns about her son’s skin color before his birth.
However, Prince Harry later clarified that the alleged remark did not come from his late grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
This latest revelation has reignited discussions surrounding racism within the royal family.
As the controversy unfolds, the British public awaits further developments and the potential consequences for those involved.
