Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has been banned from participating in the upcoming 91st Hollywood Christmas Parade.
The annual event, known for its celebrity co-hosts and festive atmosphere, is set to take place on Sunday evening.
However, organizers have reportedly prohibited Meghan from joining the parade, citing concerns that her presence might overshadow the event.
The Hollywood Christmas Parade, a beloved church tradition, is expected to attract thousands of spectators along its 3.2-mile U-shaped route.
Over 90 celebrities, including Eric Esther and Dean Cain as co-hosts, will be in attendance, alongside Monto Williams, Laura McKenzie, and Elizabeth Stanton.
The parade will also feature 14 pre-parade and parade performers, 10 bands, six four-story high-character balloons, three floats, 39 movie cars, and eight novelty vehicles.
The grand finale will showcase Santa Claus and his reindeer.
Despite the anticipation surrounding the event, Meghan’s desire to have billboards displaying her pictures with feminist and humanitarian slogans along the parade road has caused controversy.
She also expressed interest in riding in a carriage alongside her husband, Prince Harry, who would be portraying Santa Claus.
However, the organizers of the Hollywood Christmas Parade have disregarded Meghan’s requests, leading to her exclusion from the festivities.
The parade, produced annually by Associated Television International, is broadcast on the Hallmark Channel and in traditional syndication.
In an effort to secure a televised appearance, Meghan had turned to WNIE, but her plans were ultimately thwarted.
The parade will commence at 6 o’clock p.m. on Sunday, starting at Orange Street on Hollywood Boulevard, traveling east on Hollywood Boulevard to Vine Street, then south on Vine Street to Sunset Boulevard, and finally heading west on Sunset back to Orange.
Notable participants in the parade include Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, dancer and singer Paula Abdul, singer Dwight Yoakam, radio host Cree Kassam, pop duo Alien A.J., and actors Chris Catton, Craig Robinson, Ernie Hudson, Brandon Riv, Mingna, Denise Richards, and Tatiana Ali.
The Hollywood Christmas Parade has always been dedicated to supporting charitable organizations like Toys for Tots, which aim to help underprivileged individuals during the holiday season.
It serves as a reminder of our shared humanity and the importance of kindness and mutual assistance.
This news comes amidst reports suggesting that Meghan Markle is uncertain about her career path following her withdrawal from royal duties in 2020.
While promoting his upcoming book, author Ahmed Scobie revealed that Meghan’s focus would primarily be on business and philanthropy.
He mentioned that Meghan’s business plans had evolved multiple times during his conversations while writing the book.
Scobie did not rule out the possibility of Meghan returning to acting, especially since she hinted at exciting projects in the pipeline that she couldn’t discuss yet.
Recently, Meghan attended the Variety Gala, where she expressed pride in the ventures she and Prince Harry were involved in, indicating their enthusiasm for their work.
