Princess Catherine, the Princess of Wales, has once again proven her down-to-earth nature in a heartwarming encounter with a young boy.
While on her way to the Commonwealth Games, the princess chose to take the train to Birmingham, where she came across the son of Times columnist Matthew Sied.
In a column, Matthew explained that he and his son, Ted, were traveling first class when he went to use the bathroom, leaving Ted waiting outside.
To his surprise, he heard his son engaged in conversation with a woman in the vestibule.
The woman asked, “Are you here alone?”
to which Ted replied, “No, my dad is in there,” pointing towards the lavatory.
Matthew overheard their laughter and realized that the woman was none other than the Princess of Wales.
After leaving the bathroom, Matthew went to express his gratitude to the woman, only to realize it was Princess Catherine.
However, his son seemed oblivious to her identity, simply stating that she was very nice.
Matthew concluded his column by praising her character and sense of duty, emphasizing that the monarchy is in capable hands.
While Princess Catherine opted for a train journey, Prince William and Princess Charlotte arrived at the event in a more thrilling manner – they were flown in by helicopter by the Prince of Wales.
