Prince Harry is reportedly feeling a deep sense of longing for his UK-based family, particularly as his brother Prince William and sister-in-law Princess Kate embark on a family holiday, according to insider claims.
Since stepping down as working royals and relocating to the United States, Harry is said to be experiencing sadness over missing out on the activities of the royal family this summer.
The Duke cherished spending summers in England and had hoped that his children would develop a special bond with their cousins, just as he did with Princess Beatrice and Eugene.
However, Harry’s children, Archie and Lilibet, have developed a different relationship with their cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis since their family’s move to the United States.
Normally, the entire family would be enjoying a vacation at Norfolk’s Sandringham Estate.
Instead, Harry and Meghan are said to be focused on rescuing their struggling brand.
A source from Buckingham Palace reveals that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not received invitations to the Balmoral events this summer, including the royal family’s commemorations marking the first anniversary of the Queen’s passing.
In an attempt to secure an opportunity to attend at least the Queen’s commemoration, Harry recently called Princess Beatrice, seeking her assistance in persuading King Charles.
However, Beatrice informed him that she cannot intervene and suggested that he directly reach out to his father.
While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are scheduled to be in Europe for the Invictus Games shortly after the anniversary, royal sources indicate that they will not be joining other members of the royal family in mourning the late monarch next month.
King Charles and Queen Camilla are expected to observe the anniversary on September 8th at Balmoral alongside other family members, including Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
However, insiders claim that no outreach has been made to Harry and Meghan, leading to their exclusion from both public and private commemorations.
The decision to keep Harry and Meghan away from Balmoral is being perceived as a ban.
An insider told The Sun, “There hasn’t been any outreach to them.”
However, another source added that if the couple is not included in any plans, they will find their own way to mark the occasion’s significance.
It is worth noting that when the Queen passed away last year, Harry flew alone on a private jet after William, Andrew, Prince Edward, and Sophie, and did not have the opportunity to see her before her passing.
Relations between Charles and Harry are believed to still be strained following the Duke’s scathing attacks on the royal family, including his bombshell memoir and numerous media interviews promoting the book.
Contact between Prince William and his brother is reportedly nonexistent, and a reconciliation does not appear to be on the horizon anytime soon.
Despite the rift, several members of the extended Windsor clan are expected to spend time at Balmoral this year.
This includes the Prince and Princess of Wales with their children, George, Charlotte, and Louis, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh with their teenage children, Louise and James.
Princess Anne and her husband, Vice-Admiral Sir Timothy Lawrence, along with her son Peter Phillips and daughter Zara Tyndall, will also be present, each with their own families.
Additionally, Charles’ cousin, Lady Sarah Chasso, and the Duke of York with his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Eugene, and their young families will be in attendance.
As the family remains out of touch, a noticeable contrast emerges between Archie and Lilibet’s relationship with their cousins and that of Harry’s.
The Prince and Princess of Wales recently spent time at their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, with their children and Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie.
