Amid renewed scrutiny of Prince Andrew’s association with convicted s** offender Jeffrey Epstein, there are calls for him to distance himself from the scandal by relocating.
In a recent discussion on the matter, columnists Sarah Vine and Andrew Pearce suggested that Prince Andrew should follow in the footsteps of the least popular royal, Meghan Markle, and move to America.
Despite finding temporary respite during the Christmas holidays at Sandringham, where he joined the rest of the royal family, Prince Andrew finds himself once again embroiled in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal due to new legal documents surfacing.
This has prompted demands for decisive action.
Pearce criticized the prince for his poor judgment, while Vine highlighted the daily influx of lurid claims regarding his alleged connections to Epstein’s infamous private island, which Prince Andrew vehemently denies.
The debate revolves around whether King Charles should evict Prince Andrew from the royal lodge in Windsor Great Park, where he has resided for the past two decades under a lease that extends until 2078.
Vine suggests that Prince Andrew needs to be out of the public eye and out of people’s minds, proposing Sandringham as a suitable retreat due to its secluded and aristocratic environment.
Prince Andrew has consistently and adamantly denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein.
Vine argues that residing in a grand palace in Windsor is not a wise choice.
Instead, she proposes that he relocate to Sandringham in Norfolk, where he can surround himself with like-minded individuals and engage in social gatherings, such as dinner parties and lunch events.
In a lighthearted tone, Pearce jokingly suggests Montecito, California, as an alternative location for Prince Andrew to join Prince Harry and Meghan in their home.
He quips about the abundance of space in the house, stating that Prince Andrew would have plenty of room to himself.
Pearce also mentions that Prince Harry is currently competing with Prince Andrew for the title of the least popular royal, with Meghan Markle potentially holding that distinction.
Interestingly, it was recently revealed that King Charles offered Frogmore Cottage, Prince Harry and Meghan’s former residence, to Prince Andrew after their eviction in March 2023.
However, Prince Andrew declined the offer and chose to remain in the Royal Lodge.
In 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan moved to Montecito, California, after stepping down as senior members of the royal family.
Their departure left their UK home available, but King Charles ordered them to vacate the property in March, and they complied by June.
As the controversy surrounding Prince Andrew’s connection to Jeffrey Epstein intensifies, the pressure for him to distance himself from the scandal grows.
