Prince Harry has been engaged in a legal battle with the UK government, demanding increased security protection when he is in his home country.
In this ongoing case, Harry’s representatives have claimed that his car was interdicted by paparazzi after leaving the Welchard Awards charity event in July 2021, needlessly placing him in a dangerous situation.
However, footage obtained by the Daily Mail tells a different story, showing no paparazzi present as Harry’s car departed the event.
Esther Crack, a UK writer and broadcaster, has shed light on the situation, stating that Harry has requested the UK Home Office to provide an example of a royal who faced a similar threat assessment but had their security reduced.
Crack points out that there hasn’t been a royal like Harry who voluntarily left the royal family.
She draws comparisons to Princess Diana, who, although married to a future king, had her own private security arrangements.
The Sussexes have offered to cover the expenses for police protection, but Crack explains that it is not how the system works.
Allowing individuals to hire police security would raise significant concerns for both the Home Office and the British public, as special security levels are granted and not contracted.
The level of security provided to individuals is determined by the UK Home Office’s assessment of what is appropriate.
This was one of the aspects highlighted to Prince Harry when he made the decision to step away from his role as a working royal, Crack emphasizes.
In another development, Prince Harry allegedly expressed irritation after his uncle, Prince Andrew, was invited to spend Christmas with the royal family at Sandringham while he was not.
Speculation had been circulating before Christmas that the Sussexes might return for the festive period, especially since Harry had a warm phone call with King Charles on his birthday in November.
However, they did not attend the royal Christmas celebrations in Sandringham and chose to stay in California instead.
Nevertheless, Harry is said to have found Andrew’s appearance on TV coverage of the family’s Christmas walkabout irritating.
According to American Celebrity magazine In Touch Weekly, Harry was disappointed by Andrew’s presence, which was seen as a “slap in the face” to the Sussexes.
The insider added that Harry was particularly annoyed by the fact that Andrew and Fergie joined the family at church, considering that Fergie is no longer part of the royal family.
The frustration with Andrew is reportedly linked to his association with Epstein, a notorious figure.
As Prince Harry continues his legal battle with the UK government and navigates his relationship with the royal family, the public remains engaged in these ongoing developments.
