Prince Harry’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will not be returning to the UK for a considerable period, leaving the King deeply saddened, according to a prominent royal commentator.
In a recent episode of Royal Pancakes, Michael Cole expressed his concern over the lack of time the King has been able to spend with his grandchildren, particularly Lilibet, whom he has reportedly met only once.
Cole empathetically shared, “I think the King feels hurt by the fact that he does not see his grandchildren in California.
It would be quite natural for any man to wish to see his grandchildren.
I know for a fact that the King is very keen.
He loves his children, he loves his grandchildren, he loves his godchildren.
The fact that he does not see Archie and Lilibet, and that it is not his wish, will be very upsetting to him.”
Despite Prince Harry making several trips to the UK, his children have not accompanied him.
Even during the coronation, which Harry attended alone, Duchess Meghan opted to stay in California.
This decision has left the King yearning for more time with his beloved grandchildren.
The situation is not expected to change anytime soon, as it remains uncertain when Prince Harry will bring his children back to the country.
The couple recently declined an invitation to the Duke of Westminster’s wedding in the summer of 2024, leading to speculations about their reluctance to visit the UK.
While the rest of the royal family, including the King, Queen, and Prince and Princess of Wales, are anticipated to attend the event, sources close to the Sussexes claim that they turned down the invitation due to concerns about potential awkwardness.
