In a recent development, Prince Harry’s alleged helicopter license has come under scrutiny, raising doubts about his piloting abilities.
The Sussex’s PR team had previously shared a story about Harry joining an exclusive helicopter club in Los Angeles to fly his wife, Meghan Markle, and their son, Archie, around.
However, there seems to be no evidence of Harry ever flying, let alone with his family.
According to The Sun, Meghan and Harry claimed that he had joined a prestigious helicopter club near their new home in Santa Barbara, California.
The membership was said to help him maintain and renew his helicopter license.
A source close to the prince revealed that Harry had joined a local flying club in California to ensure his license remained valid.
It is a requirement to log a certain number of flying hours each year to keep the license active, both in the UK and the US.
A friend of Harry’s mentioned that he takes great pride in his license, having worked hard to obtain it, starting from the Basic level and progressing to the Apache.
Although he is unlikely to be called back for military service in England, Harry wants to accumulate flying hours for personal use.
This way, he and Meghan can embark on expeditions whenever they desire.
However, an investigation into the matter on the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) website has failed to find any record of Harry’s helicopter license.
A Reddit user, who conducted multiple searches using different permutations, could not locate Harry’s license either.
The license in question was reportedly issued in 2012 and should still be valid without any lapses.
While it is possible that the license is registered in a UK database, Harry claims to be flying in the US, making the absence of any FAA recognition puzzling.
Furthermore, it is worth noting that Harry never served as an actual pilot during his time in the military.
He held the role of a gunner, sitting alongside the real pilot.
Despite being associated with helicopters, he did not fly them.
If he had successfully completed the necessary tests and earned his wings, it is expected that the British Royal Family would have publicly acknowledged his achievement.
However, no such announcement or ceremony has taken place for Harry.
Comparatively, when Prince William earned his wings, his father, Prince Charles, proudly affixed them to his uniform in a formal ceremony.
This event included other pilots who had also earned their wings.
The absence of a similar ceremony for Harry raises doubts about whether he truly obtained his pilot’s license.
Additionally, if Harry currently holds any civilian pilot’s license, he would need to fly regularly to maintain his flying hours.
This requirement further adds to the uncertainty surrounding his alleged license.
The question arises: Did Harry deceive John Travolta about his license, boasting of an achievement that never occurred?
It is possible that the award was altered to save face once the truth came to light.
As the controversy surrounding Prince Harry’s helicopter license continues, many are left wondering about the authenticity of his piloting claims.
