King Charles paid a visit to his daughter-in-law, Princess Catherine, as they both underwent treatment at the same hospital.
The Princess of Wales, who recently had abdominal surgery, received support from her father-in-law ahead of his own surgery to treat an enlarged prostate.
The King, accompanied by Queen Camilla, was photographed arriving at the London Clinic, where Kate had her surgery on January 16.
Buckingham Palace confirmed the King’s admission to a London hospital for scheduled treatment.
Kensington Palace had previously announced Kate’s surgery on January 17, stating that it was successful.
She is expected to remain in the hospital for 10-14 days before returning home to continue her recovery.
However, based on medical advice, she is unlikely to resume public duties until after Easter.
In a statement, the Princess of Wales expressed her appreciation for the public’s interest while emphasizing her desire to maintain normalcy for her children and keep her personal medical information private.
Updates on her progress will only be provided when significant new information arises.
The Princess of Wales also apologized for the postponement of her upcoming engagements and expressed her eagerness to reinstate as many as possible in due time.
It is worth noting that Princess Catherine’s issue is non-cancerous.
This visit from King Charles follows Prince William’s visit to his wife in the hospital last week.
The Prince of Wales, who drove himself to the London clinic, was captured leaving the premises on January 18.
Prince William intends to spend as much time as possible with his wife during her recovery, balancing daytime visits with caring for their three children at home in Windsor – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Consequently, both Princess Catherine and Prince William have postponed some of their engagements.
Additionally, two planned international trips have been rescheduled.
The Princess of Wales made her most recent public appearance on Christmas Day, participating in the Royal Family’s annual tradition of walking to church and greeting well-wishers.
However, for now, her focus remains on recuperation and regaining her strength.
The support from her family, including visits from King Charles and Prince William, undoubtedly brings comfort during this time.
