In a thrilling finale at SW19, the Princess of Wales radiated delight as she presented the winner’s trophy to Wimbledon’s newest champion, Carlos Alcaraz.
The Spaniard graciously bowed before the princess, who elegantly matched her 750-pound emerald Roland Marat frock with a pair of earrings in a similar shade, adding to the grandeur of the tournament’s climax.
As she handed over the prestigious prize, she congratulated Alcaraz on his victory and then stepped back, applauding the new number one.
Prior to fulfilling her role as the patron for the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Princess Catherine received a warm round of applause.
She greeted the ball kids with handshakes and engaged in conversations with them as they lined up to welcome her onto the court for the trophy presentation.
Her rapport with the young tennis enthusiasts was evident, as many of them grinned while she politely made her way down the line, shaking each hand.
Accompanied by her children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, as well as her husband, Prince William, the princess attended the final day of the tournament at SW19.
Princess Charlotte added a stylish touch with a pair of pink sunglasses, sitting next to her brother.
Prince George, dressed in a regal navy suit, sat attentively beside his sister.
Both children were captivated by the day’s tennis, with Prince George occasionally watching the action with his head in his hands.
As they departed the club, the royal family waved to their adoring fans below while crossing the bridge.
This marked Princess Kate’s third appearance at the tournament this season, having previously witnessed the Czech Republic’s Wondrosova claim victory in the Venus Rosewater Dish.
Since 2016, she has held the esteemed position of being the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club.
Alcaraz’s triumph is significant as he becomes the first player outside the Big Four – Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray – to win the men’s singles title since 2002.
This victory follows his first Grand Slam title at the US Open last year.
It is worth noting that the last time Djokovic, who is 36 years old, lost on centre-court, Carlos Alcaraz was still in primary school.
