A heartwarming tale has emerged from the royal household as Prince Archie’s former nanny opens up about her time caring for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son.

In an interview on The Breakfast Club with Zenzel and Debele, Lauren Camarlo, a paediatric nurse and consultant, shared details of her unexpected first meeting with the royal couple.

As she reminisced about her initial visit to Frogmore Cottage, where she was employed to care for their newborn child, Camarlo revealed that her encounter with Prince Harry and Meghan was far from what she had anticipated.

She described how she was greeted by a barefoot Harry, who welcomed her informally.

This took her by surprise, leaving her wondering about the appearance of the nannies employed by the couple.

Camarlo humorously pondered, “I thought to myself, I wonder how their nannies look, do they wear heels?”

She further explained that Prince William’s nanny had a distinct uniform, but she knew it wouldn’t suit her.

Determined to make a good impression, she opted for a dark outfit and elegant kitten heels, but decided against wearing any makeup.

She believed that her genuine self should be enough to secure the job, stating, “I wasn’t born with a silver spoon, I’m not blue blood, I will go as I am and trust me with my God, I’ll get this job.”

Upon arriving at the couple’s residence, Camarlo’s expectations were shattered once again.

Instead of encountering someone dressed in expensive suits, she found Prince Harry casually donning jeans and a t-shirt, walking around barefoot.

Intrigued by royal protocol, she sought guidance from Harry’s protection officer, asking if she should curtsy.

To her surprise, the officer simply laughed and assured her that Prince Harry was an amazing person.

When the moment finally arrived and Camarlo met Prince Harry, she was overwhelmed by his warmth and kindness.

“The way he opened his arms, hello Lauren, and gave me a hug.

I thought, wow, what a gentleman, what a gem, oh my goodness, I couldn’t believe it,” she recalled with admiration.

Camarlo also had nothing but praise for Meghan, describing her as a beautiful woman.

She emphasized that the meeting was far more relaxed and informal than she had initially expected, dispelling any notions of rigid formality.

“It wasn’t as formal as I expected it to be, it was just a normal home,” Camarlo revealed.
