Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a glamorous appearance at the premiere of the new Bob Marley film in Jamaica.
While the couple enjoyed the event, back in Britain, Prince Harry’s father was preparing for prostate surgery, and his sister-in-law was recovering from serious abdominal surgery.
Arriving at the Carib Theatre in Kingston, Meghan looked stunning in a full skirted flowing black gown, while Harry opted for a suit and open-necked shirt.
The couple posed for photos with the President and CEO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon, Brian Robbins, and his wife Tracey James.
It seemed as though Harry and Meghan were searching for new connections after their previous partnerships with Spotify and Netflix.
However, it appeared that the Paramount CEO and his wife were not eager to make space for Harry and Meghan.
They were pushed to the side, and no one seemed interested in photographing the Arkles separately.
Both the CEO and his wife appeared uncomfortable, with the wife visibly annoyed by the Sussexes’ intrusion into the photo op.
It seemed that Harry and Meghan were trying to steal the limelight once again, as they often do.
Despite Meghan’s attempts to make eye contact, the couple was ignored by the CEO and his wife.
Meghan Markle has been striving to establish herself as a prominent figure in Hollywood, aiming to become a producer and more.
However, photobombing heads of studio pictures at a premiere is unlikely to help her achieve that goal.
It seems that Harry and Meghan are now seeking new opportunities after their experiences with Netflix and the laughter from the Netflix CEO at the Golden Globes.
Their recent networking with the Amazon CEO and now the CEO of another network in Jamaica suggests that they are actively looking for new deals.
During the premiere, Harry and Meghan also took photos with Andrew Holness, the Prime Minister of Jamaica, and his wife Juliet.
Holness has expressed his country’s desire to move on from the British monarchy, as Jamaica’s current head of state is Harry’s father, King Charles.
Following in the footsteps of Barbados, Jamaica is in the process of severing ties with the British monarchy.
In addition to their encounters with prominent figures, Harry was seen hugging Ziggy Marley, the 55-year-old musician and son of Bob and Rita Marley, who produced the film “One Love.”
Although it remains unclear why Harry and Meghan attended the event, the film showcases British talent, with Londoners Kingsley Ben-Adir portraying Bob Marley, Lashana Lynch as Rita Marley, and James Norton playing producer Chris Blackwell.
This visit to Jamaica marks a return trip for the Sussexes, who previously visited the Caribbean country together in 2017 for the wedding of Prince Harry’s friend Tom Skippy Inskip to Lara Hughes Young.
It was also their first public appearance of 2024, having last been seen together at a Vancouver Canucks game on November 20th, 2023, where Prince Harry participated in the ceremonial puck drop.
While Harry recently attended the Living Legends of Aviation Awards in Beverly Hills, where he was honored as an inductee, Meghan couldn’t join him due to one of their children falling ill.
However, it seems contradictory that she couldn’t travel to LA, which is close by, but could fly all the way to Jamaica to attend the premiere.
