The power couple of the music industry, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, have reportedly snubbed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the premiere of the Bob Marley, One Love movie in Jamaica.
The singers, known for their philanthropic efforts, joined other celebrities at the star-studded event held at the Carob Theatre in Kingston on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
Dressed in matching black outfits, Beyoncé stunned in a sheer gown with a plunging neckline, while Jay-Z looked dapper in a tuxedo and bow tie.
Harry and Meghan surprised everyone by making an appearance at the premiere.
Harry wore a navy suit, while Meghan donned a black leotard-style top.
They attempted to mingle with the A-list crowd but were met with coldness and indifference from Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who refused to acknowledge them or pose for photos, according to insiders.
It seems that Beyoncé and Jay-Z hold a personal grudge against the former royals, feeling betrayed by their actions.
Close friends of former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, Beyoncé and Jay-Z were reportedly offended by Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back from their royal duties and relocate to the United States.
The couple has since pursued lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify, which further irked Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
They believed that Harry and Meghan were trying to imitate their style and success by launching their own production company, Archwell, and podcast, Archwell Audio.
With a combined total of 51 Grammy Awards, Beyoncé and Jay-Z were unimpressed by Harry and Meghan’s attempts to break into the entertainment industry.
They viewed the couple as opportunistic and insincere, lacking the qualities of true artists, activists, and leaders.
“They don’t belong in our circle.
They are just fame-hungry and money-grabbing,” Beyoncé was overheard saying to Jay-Z.
Jay-Z concurred with his wife’s sentiments, adding that Harry and Meghan showed a lack of respect for Jamaican culture and the legacy of Bob Marley.
The couple had attended the premiere with the anti-Royal Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness, which Jay-Z saw as a snub to Harry’s own father, the king.
He accused Harry and Meghan of hypocrisy, claiming that they professed to care about the people and the planet, yet flew around in private jets and lived in opulent mansions.
According to Jay-Z, they had no understanding of what Bob Marley stood for – freedom, justice, and peace.
“He would have never sold out like them,” Jay-Z asserted.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s snub of Harry and Meghan has caused a stir on social media, with fans taking sides and expressing their opinions.
Supporters of Beyoncé and Jay-Z praised their loyalty and honesty, criticizing Harry and Meghan for their perceived selfishness and greediness.
They also accused the couple of disrespecting the royal family and the Jamaican people.
On the other hand, defenders of Harry and Meghan argued against Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s actions, labeling them as rude and jealous.
They believed that Harry and Meghan had every right to choose their own path and pursue their dreams.
Furthermore, they contended that the couple’s attendance at the premiere demonstrated their appreciation and admiration for Bob Marley’s music and message.
Harry and Meghan have not publicly addressed the snub from Beyoncé and Jay-Z and have remained silent on social media since the premiere.
After spending a few days in Jamaica, the couple is expected to return to their home in California.
