In a delightful moment, August Brooksbank, the son of Princess Eugene, made his very first royal appearance at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The great-grandson of Queen Elizabeth was accompanied by his parents, Princess Eugene and Jack Brooksbank, as they attended the Platinum Jubilee pageant in London on June 6th, 2022.
August looked adorable dressed in an on-theme blue sweater adorned with a Union Jack motif.
He could be seen happily bouncing on his mother’s knee during the celebratory procession of musicians, dancers, acrobats, and carnival floats passing by the royal box outside Buckingham Palace.
According to a source close to the Royal Insider, August had the opportunity to meet the late Queen at his christening.
Additionally, Princess Eugene took him to see the Queen a day before the Jubilee, resulting in a heartwarming encounter between generations.
Although no official photographs have been released, it is reported that they were captured together.
The decision to keep August’s photo with his great-grandmother under wraps for over a year was made after Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, announced to the tabloids that her children had met the Queen.
Meghan repeatedly emphasized the resemblance between Lilibet and Princess Eugene’s son, despite nobody having met Lilibet yet.
However, Queen Elizabeth saw through Meghan’s intentions.
She ordered the palace not to release any photos of herself and August, aiming to prevent Meghan from exploiting them for media gain.
The royal family held the only picture of August Brooksbank and the Queen together, and the Queen was keenly aware of when someone was attempting to take advantage of her.
It was clear to Her Majesty that the Sussexes were seeking meetings and photos with her solely for their own agenda, rather than genuinely caring about their children having a relationship with their grandmother.
They knew that if Meghan obtained a photo, she would use it for merchandise, such as mugs and t-shirts.
Meghan desperately wanted these pictures of her children with the Queen before her passing to establish their legitimacy, but her request was denied.
Despite this, Meghan resorted to using August’s single photo from the Jubilee to create a manipulated image of Lilibet’s first birthday at Frogmore Cottage.
However, Princess Eugene and Jack Brooksbank refused to exploit their son for such purposes, regardless of Meghan’s love for Prince Harry.
They did not allow Meghan to use their child, forcing her to resort to trickery.
Meghan and Prince Harry also made the journey from California to the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
They brought along their two children, including daughter Lilibet Diana, who experienced her first visit to her father’s homeland.
The family celebrated Lilibet’s first birthday with a backyard picnic at Frogmore.
Interestingly, no members of the royal family attended the birthday party, indicating a strained relationship.
It is likely that the only photo Meghan managed to obtain, even through manipulation, was one featuring August’s face.
