In a surprising turn of events, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are allegedly planning to hold a birthday celebration for their son Archie on the same day that his grandfather, King Charles, will be officially crowned.
Royal expert Lee Cohen claims that the Sussexes may be attempting to upstage the historic ceremony at Westminster Abbey with their own competing event.
Despite no longer having their royal platform, the couple seems to relish any opportunity to steal the limelight.
“It’s terribly petty,” says Cohen, “but the Sussexes seem determined to upstage royal occasions whenever possible.”
It’s worth noting that the royal family has never sought to overshadow the Sussexes’ activities; quite the opposite, in fact.
According to a source close to Meghan’s former neighbor, Oprah Winfrey, the Sussex squad, under Meghan’s direction, is raising funds for Archie’s birthday celebration.
Rumor has it that Meghan even urged her wealthy neighbors in Montecito to donate money or give gifts if they planned to attend the event, all in an effort to make her son feel comforted in his father’s absence.
This begs the question: why are they asking for money when they claim to have ample funds and have recently signed a lucrative contract?
It seems contradictory that they constantly boast about their wealth yet continue to seek financial assistance for their personal endeavors.
Are they really resorting to using their child’s birthday as a means to solicit funds?
Surely, even this seemingly greedy pair wouldn’t stoop so low.
Interestingly, last year, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s fans organized a global party to celebrate Archie’s third birthday and set up a fundraiser in honor of the occasion, as well as their daughter Lilibet Diana’s first birthday.
Supporters flooded Twitter with tributes and pictures under the hashtag #Archieday.
This year, it appears they want to make an even bigger splash to overshadow the King’s coronation.
However, one must question their unwavering belief in Meghan, especially in light of recent revelations about Archie’s legitimacy.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry is reportedly planning to return to the US just two hours after his father’s coronation concludes next week.
He intends to celebrate Archie’s birthday with his family in California.
An insider claims that Harry will leave the UK within 24 hours of the coronation service at Westminster Abbey, possibly departing around 2 or 3 pm.
While Harry’s travel plans have not been made public, sources suggest he may use a private jet for his journey back to California.
Last week, it was announced that Archie would not be attending Charles’ coronation.
Instead, the young prince will stay at home in Montecito with his mother and baby sister, Princess Lilibet.
This news has only fueled speculation that Markle will indeed hold a party for her son.
The Mirror reports that Archie’s preschool friends and some celebrity pals of the couple, including Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, and Portia de Rossi, may be in attendance if the May 6th celebration takes place.
While it remains to be seen whether the Sussexes will go ahead with their birthday bash on such a significant day, their potential plans have undoubtedly raised eyebrows and sparked debate.
As the world eagerly awaits King Charles’ coronation, it seems that the petty antics of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to captivate attention, even when they are no longer part of the royal family.
