Google has swiftly taken down the newly launched Sussex.com website belonging to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just six hours after its inception.
This move was anticipated to mark Meghan Markle’s ultimate return, following a period of relentless negative publicity and criticism since departing from the royal family in 2020.
The couple has been residing in California with their children, Archie and Elizabeth, since their departure.
Their now-defunct website, Sussex.com, positioned itself as the official hub for all things related to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The website showcased images of Harry and Meghan at the 2023 Olympics, highlighting their accomplishments and affiliations with prominent entities such as Netflix, Spotify, Archfile Foundations, sponsorships, and various initiatives.
Despite retaining their royal titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which they retained post-royal departure but refrained from using officially, the website was swiftly unmasked as a sham and promptly removed by Google.
The tech giant disclosed that Meghan Markle had independently created and registered the website without Google’s authorization.
Google stated that the website violated the royal family’s terms and conditions, as well as trademark and intellectual property rights.
Furthermore, the British government criticized the website for disseminating false and misleading information about Harry and Meghan, including the unauthorized use of their royal titles.
Legal action is now being pursued against Meghan Markle for contractual breaches and fraud in connection with the website’s takedown and blockage from the online sphere.
The abrupt removal of the website represents a significant setback and embarrassment for Meghan Markle, who intended to leverage it as a platform to enhance her public image and counteract negative media coverage.
Additionally, she aimed to employ it as a bargaining tool in negotiations with the royal family and British authorities concerning her title usage and future royal role.
However, her strategy backfired drastically, casting her in a negative light as deceitful and manipulative, ultimately damaging her ties with Google and Prince Harry.
Prince Harry expressed his dismay and frustration towards Meghan Markle, holding her accountable for jeopardizing their prospects for success and respect in the U.S.
He condemned her actions as selfish, reckless, and incompetent, leading to his desire for a divorce.
In addition to the website’s deletion, Meghan Markle encountered public outrage and boycotts, with many deeming her actions fraudulent and hypocritical.
The public accused her of exploiting their loyalty and tarnishing the royal family’s reputation.
Meghan Markle’s attempt to establish a new online presence alongside her husband ended in failure, revealing her deceitful nature and resulting in widespread disapproval.
Google’s intervention served as a stark reminder of the consequences of deception and manipulation in the digital age.
Meghan Markle’s aspirations to solidify her position as the Duchess of Sussex crumbled, underscoring the repercussions of dishonesty and unethical behavior in the public eye.
