Retired WWE star John Cena recently appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and shared his experience working with singer Dua Lipa.
When asked about a potential movie collaboration with Lipa, Cena expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Man, I’d love to do like a buddy cop movie with her.”
During the show, Colbert surprised Cena by presenting him with a poster for a fake movie titled Beauty and the Brawn, featuring Cena and Lipa.
The Suicide Squad star jokingly replied, “Well, I’ll be back to promote that project, sir.”
Colbert playfully added, “The twist is, you’re the beauty, she’s the brawn,” to which Cena laughed off, admitting that the audience didn’t buy into the concept.
On the show, Cena also discussed shooting the films Argyle and Barbie with Lipa.
He revealed that they had worked on Argyle before Barbie and admitted feeling nervous being on set alongside Henry Cavill and Lipa because of their undeniable attractiveness.
Cena appreciated Lipa’s honesty and admired her for openly acknowledging her performance jitters.
During the interview, host Stephen Colbert inquired whether Cena would be interested in starring alongside Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, if she returned to acting.
This question arose due to rumors suggesting Meghan might make a cameo appearance in the new season of Suits.
However, Cena simply laughed it off, stating that Meghan wouldn’t be coming back.
He expressed his disinterest in working with her, commenting, “I’m not a fan of Suits, but I know Meghan was just a supporting actress.
Nowadays, there are many talented young actors.
If Suits wants to attract viewers, they should innovate the characters.
And as you asked, I wouldn’t want to work with Meghan.
Well, I heard she’s a diva.”
In related news, Pop Culture reported that more details have emerged about the new Suits spin-off.
However, fans shouldn’t expect to see Meghan Markle or any of the original cast members in the show.
Deadline revealed that Victoria Mahoney will be directing Suits LA, which is reportedly close to receiving a pilot order from NBC.
The potential spin-off will introduce all-new characters in a different city within the same universe.
While the original cast won’t star as series regulars, there is a possibility for them to make guest or recurring appearances based on interest.
Production for the pilot episode is scheduled to begin in Vancouver in March.
Suits creator Aaron Korsch will serve as executive producer alongside David Bartis, Doug Lehman, and Gene Klein.
While fans may be disappointed by the absence of their favorite characters, there remains a chance they could make a visit to Los Angeles in the future.
Contrary to recent rumors, Meghan’s agency, WME, was not negotiating with NBCUniversal for her involvement in the spin-off.
These claims were merely PR news released by Meghan’s team.
