Amid the ongoing royal family crisis, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie may not be inclined to pursue senior roles within the royal family, according to insights from a distinguished royal historian.
The Duke of York’s daughters have established themselves with unique careers and families, setting them apart from traditional royal duties.
In an exclusive interview with GB News, Marlene Koenig, a reputable royal historian, expressed doubts about the likelihood of Princess Beatrice and Eugenie assuming active roles as working royals.
Koenig highlighted that both King Charles and Princess Kate had temporarily withdrawn from their royal responsibilities earlier this year due to health concerns, sparking speculation about potential successors within the royal family.
Recent health challenges faced by key members of the royal family, including a cancer diagnosis for one royal and planned abdominal surgery for Princess Kate, have raised questions about the future dynamics of the monarchy.
As King Charles navigates these uncertainties, speculations have emerged about the possible involvement of Prince Andrew’s daughters in royal affairs.
Princess Eugenie, aged 33, tied the knot with Jack Brooksbank in 2018 and now has two young children, August and Ernest.
The couple currently resides in Portugal, where Brooksbank is actively engaged in marketing, sales, and promotions for Michael Meldman’s Discovery Land company.
On the other hand, Princess Beatrice, aged 35, holds a vice-president position at Affinity, as indicated on her LinkedIn profile.
She exchanged vows with Edardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2020, and the couple shares a two-year-old daughter named Sienna.
Koenig emphasized that the personal and professional commitments of Princess Beatrice and Eugenie could deter them from pursuing royal obligations.
Noting that the princesses have been aware since the late 1990s that formal royal roles were unlikely, Koenig underscored the influence of past decisions made by senior royal family members and officials.
It is noteworthy that neither of Princess Beatrice or Eugenie’s parents currently hold official positions within the royal family.
Prince Andrew permanently stepped back from royal duties in 2019 following public scrutiny over his association with Jeffrey Epstein, as revealed during a Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis.
