During Monday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Abigail Spencer made an unexpected appearance alongside her extended family co-star Donald Faison.
Spencer, known for her work with Meghan Markle on the hit series Suits, shared a special message from Meghan to the host.
“Meg says hello and that she loves you and that she voted for you on American Idol,” Spencer conveyed to Clarkson.
To which Clarkson amusingly responded, “It worked.”
Spencer elaborated on how this tidbit of information came to light, mentioning, “This was unsolicited.
Megan didn’t know I was coming on here.
We were just chatting and I was like, oh, I’m going to see Kelly next week and she’s like, I have a message.”
Additionally, Spencer disclosed that Meghan had recently been dining with Michael Bublé, who allegedly praised her singing by stating, “‘You’re the greatest singer on earth.'”
Clarkson playfully dismissed the compliment, quipping that Bublé was not being truthful, saying, “He’s lying, but I love him.”
However, Clarkson’s response sparked some criticism, with many taking to social media to mock her for seeming desperate.
One commenter remarked, “My God, such cringey desperate wannabe move lol.
She has to say it’s unsolicited.
Looks even more fake, rehearsed and contrived.
And Kelly was of course not having it.”
Abigail Spencer emphasized that Meghan had no prior knowledge of her appearance on the show and immediately segued into informing Meghan about her upcoming conversation with Kelly Clarkson.
A third individual humorously noted, “I see she’s an academic, just like her best friend,” in reference to Meghan.
Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson attempted to maintain composure amidst the unexpected revelations, displaying contrasting reactions when Meghan and Michael Bublé were mentioned.
In a separate segment of the show, Abigail shared insights into her bond with Meghan, despite no one prompting the discussion.
Recounting their initial encounter in 2007, Abigail reminisced, “I see this beautiful, gorgeous creature at the end of the table and I’m like, who is that?
We had an immediate something, you know?
And her name’s Meghan Markle.”
This revelation was met with a dismissive response from Donald Faison and Kelly, who claimed they had never heard of Meghan.
Furthermore, Abigail highlighted the connection she shares with Meghan, revealing that they both celebrate the same birthday.
Describing their evolving friendship, Abigail expressed, “It was just something between us, our friendship really developed during that time and deepened.
She’s an incredible person.”
However, when Abigail attempted to delve further into Meghan’s persona, Kelly swiftly redirected the conversation, playfully dismissing the topic.
It is worth noting the diverse reactions elicited by Meghan’s mention, with Donald Faison showcasing a humorous sneer.
The dynamics surrounding Meghan Markle continue to evoke varied responses, with contrasting perspectives emerging from notable figures like Chris Rock to individuals on social media who harbor strong negative sentiments towards her.
The complexities surrounding Meghan’s public image and her interracial background further contribute to the ongoing discussions and debates within various communities.
