Prince Louis, the youngest child of Kate Middleton and Prince William, has reached the age of 5.
The royal celebration took place on April 23rd, with Kensington Palace unveiling fresh portraits of the young prince on Instagram.
This year, professional photographer Millie Pilkington captured the annual photos, a departure from previous years when the Princess of Wales was behind the lens.
One of the images features Kate herself, sharing a heartwarming moment with Louis as she pushes him in a wheelbarrow while he sports a charming blue Fair Isle sweater.
The caption on Instagram teases, “Someone’s turning 5 tomorrow.
A very happy birthday to Prince Louis.”
To mark the occasion, a small gathering was organized at the palace to honor Prince Louis’ birthday.
Additionally, there was an announcement regarding the future title change for the young prince during the festivities.
Meanwhile, across the pond in the US, Archie’s upcoming birthday bash is making headlines for the wrong reasons as reports suggest that prominent neighbors have declined to attend.
Amidst these celebrations and speculations, significant changes are underway within the royal family.
Notably, there is a notable development concerning Edward’s new Edinburgh title, which is stipulated to be non-hereditary and will revert to the crown upon his passing, rather than being passed down to his son James.
This strategic move could potentially pave the way for one of the children of the Prince and Princess of Wales to inherit the title in the future, with Prince Louis emerging as a strong contender.
Among William and Kate’s offspring, Prince George is destined to ascend the throne as a future king, while Princess Charlotte is likely to be designated as Princess Royal in due course.
Consequently, this positions young Louis as a prospective Duke of Edinburgh, or another designation of choice by Charles or William should either assume the throne when the time comes.
Currently, Prince Louis holds the title of His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Wales, a distinction bestowed upon him at birth by his great-grandmother, the late Queen, who intervened to overturn a decree established by King George V in 1917.
The past year has been eventful for Prince Louis and his family, with Kate and William increasingly involving him in public engagements.
Notably, he made his debut at the royal family’s Easter church service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle earlier this month, donning coordinated outfits alongside his siblings.
In December 2022, Louis joined his parents for the annual Christmas walk at Sandringham for the first time.
His charismatic presence was also felt at the Trooping of the Colour parade in June, where he, along with his siblings, stole the spotlight, marking the commencement of celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee.
Tragically, Queen Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96 in September, coinciding with the start of a new school year for Louis and his siblings.
During a public appearance at Windsor Castle shortly after the Queen’s passing, Kate shared a touching sentiment from her youngest son, expressing reassurance that the Queen was now reunited with her great-grandfather.
