Montecito residents are up in arms over a foul smell emanating from a massive cannabis farm situated near the residence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Californian mansion is now at the center of controversy as locals express their discontent, with one resident even claiming that the odor affected his ability to drive.
According to a Royal Insider, although Meghan is busy pursuing acting opportunities, Harry has not been involved in any significant business ventures.
However, the couple has reportedly been indulging in marijuana consumption for years, sharing their fondness for the substance with close friends.
Their latest venture involves utilizing their new property for cultivating crops and establishing a factory to produce legal marijuana products.
Additionally, Prince Harry is exploring the possibility of acquiring state-authorized dispensaries to market his cannabis products.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle relocated to their £11 million mansion in Montecito, California, near Santa Barbara, in July 2020.
While their lavish 9-bedroom home may seem like a dream come true, a fully operational cannabis farm is located just a short 10-minute drive away.
The farm comprises 20 large greenhouses brimming with potent plants, prompting numerous complaints from residents about the overpowering smell.
The Santa Barbara Coalition of Responsible Cannabis and the Cannabis Association for Responsible Producers have vowed to address the issue by installing odor control systems to mitigate the impact on the community.
The noxious odor has become so pervasive that it forced a local resident, Gregory Gandred, to pull over while driving due to its intensity.
Gandred recounted his experience, stating, “The stink was getting stronger and heading their way.
I was driving along the freeway and was hit hard by the smell.
It doesn’t make you high, but it’s not what you want driving at 70 miles an hour.
I had to pull over.
It made me completely lose my train of thought.”
Moreover, reports suggest that both Prince Harry and Meghan have a history of marijuana use.
Prince Charles reportedly sent Harry to rehab at age 17 upon discovering his drug use.
Additionally, Meghan allegedly distributed joints at her first wedding to ex-husband Trevor Engelson in Jamaica in 2011.
Notably, Meghan’s nephew, Tyler Dooley, is a professional marijuana grower based in Oregon, where cannabis cultivation has been legal since 2015.
Dooley recently introduced a new potent hybrid strain named Markle Sparkle.
Tyler Dooley’s involvement in the cannabis industry has garnered attention, with producers expressing interest in featuring him and his family in a television series.
They believe that viewers will be captivated by the Dooleys’ unique lifestyle and anticipate a successful portrayal of their intriguing lives on screen.
Tyler views this opportunity as a platform to promote his marijuana business and looks forward to the potential exposure it may bring.
