In an unprecedented move, the King has brokered a deal with Angela Kelly, the late Queen’s dresser, ensuring that royal secrets remain under lock and key in exchange for a fresh start up North.
Angela Kelly, a trusted confidant of the late Queen, has been granted the opportunity to select a new residence after being required to vacate the Windsor estate.
However, sources close to the situation have disclosed that a high-ranking palace official acting on behalf of the King presented Miss Kelly with a new non-disclosure agreement (NDA) as part of the arrangement.
Termed as a “gagging order” by an insider, the NDA poses potential challenges for Miss Kelly in terms of profiting from any future disclosures regarding the royal family.
The agreement explicitly prohibits Miss Kelly from exploiting the terms “King” and “Palace” for commercial gain, thereby limiting her scope for public revelations.
Despite having received approval from the Queen to publish two books detailing her experiences within the royal household, Miss Kelly’s plans for a third book may now be jeopardized due to the stringent clauses of the NDA.
The King’s decision to intervene stems from concerns that the revised edition of Miss Kelly’s second book, “The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, the Dresser, and the Wardrobe,” delved excessively into the private lives of the royal family.
Notably, in the updated version released last year, Miss Kelly recounted intimate moments such as assisting the Queen after Prince Philip’s funeral, where she described a poignant scene of the Queen deep in contemplation in her private quarters.
With a desire to honor the late Queen’s wishes, the King has facilitated a new residence for Miss Kelly while concurrently safeguarding the family’s reputation from potential disclosures.
Earlier reports from April had unveiled that Miss Kelly, aged 65, was granted a permanent residence by the King following her departure from the Windsor estate post the Queen’s passing.
Recently, images surfaced of Miss Kelly relocating her belongings from a historic cottage in Berkshire to her forthcoming abode up North in the Peak District near Sheffield.
Expressing her anticipation for the upcoming chapter in her life, Miss Kelly shared her excitement on social media, stating, “Getting ready to say goodbye, I am moving at last to my new home, which I’ll be able to call my home at last.”
The Liverpool-born dresser, distinguished with the Royal Victoria Order in 2012, expressed her eagerness for new adventures in her soon-to-be surroundings.
