The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, made a surprise virtual appearance at the Sport Gives Back Awards held at Cadogan Hall in London.
This came just hours after he disclosed his unsuccessful security battle at the Supreme Court.
Despite not being physically present at the ceremony, Prince Harry decided to join virtually and deliver heartfelt remarks.
During the awards ceremony, Prince Harry took the opportunity to honor Foundation Communications Director Josh Bogie, who was recognized as the unbeaten award winner.
Josh, a former serviceman who lost both legs and his right arm in Afghanistan, demonstrated remarkable resilience by taking up cycling during his recovery.
In his speech, Prince Harry praised Josh, describing him as a truly exceptional individual and a symbol of strength and perseverance.
However, it was Olympic triple jumper and Invictus Games trust board member Jonathan Edwards who presented Josh with the prestigious award on stage, amidst a gathering that included sporting icons like Sir Mo Farah, Dame Kelly Holmes, and Frank Lampard.
Earlier in the day, news broke that Prince Harry’s legal challenge against the UK government regarding his security rights had been dismissed by the Supreme Court.
The ruling upheld the decision to reduce his security status when he transitioned from his role as a senior royal and relocated to the United States in 2020.
Retired High Court Judge Sir Peter Lane, overseeing the case, deemed the decision as lawful and devoid of procedural irregularities.
Prince Harry’s virtual appearance at the awards ceremony follows his brief visit to the UK, where he spent just 25 hours reconnecting with his father.
Alongside his wife Meghan Markle, the couple made the decision to step back from their royal duties in January 2020.
Currently residing in California with their two young children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who are four and two years old respectively, the couple is anticipated to revisit the UK later this year to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
