Princess Beatrice recently tied the knot with property tycoon Eduardo Mopeli Mozzi in a private ceremony that was attended by close family members.
The wedding, which had been postponed from its original date in May due to the pandemic, took place at a chapel in Windsor.
Buckingham Palace has now released new photographs of the special occasion, showcasing the bride’s stunning choice of attire.
For her big day, Princess Beatrice opted to wear a vintage Baudois taffeta dress in shades of ivory.
The dress, on loan from the Queen, was originally designed by Norman Hartnell and featured intricate details of Duchess satin and Diamante.
It was remodeled and fitted by Angela Kelly, the Queen’s senior dresser, along with designer Stuart Parvin.
To complete her bridal look, Princess Beatrice wore the Queen Mary diamond French tiara, also on loan from the Queen.
This tiara holds historical significance as it was worn by the monarch on her own wedding day.
The Queen’s decision to lend both her dress and tiara to her granddaughter has been seen as an act of solidarity and a testament to their close bond.
Royal author Penny Junor expressed her admiration for the Queen’s gesture, stating, “It’s really touching that the Queen showed such solidarity with her, especially with the tiara that she herself was married in.
It speaks volumes about how fond her grandparents are of her.
It’s really heartwarming.”
Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, also praised the Queen’s decision, describing it as a tremendous compliment to Princess Beatrice and the entire York family.
The intimate ceremony was attended by the Duke of Edinburgh, the couple’s parents, and their siblings.
This gathering marked the first time the Queen and Prince Philip had been able to join their family since the lockdown began.
Princess Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie, and her husband Jack Brooksbank were also believed to be among the guests.
Following the wedding, the Queen spoke about the event during a meeting with fundraising hero Captain Sir Tom Moore and his family.
She described it as a “very nice” family occasion and expressed her joy at being able to attend alongside Prince Philip.
The Queen’s presence at the ceremony further emphasized the significance of the day for Princess Beatrice and her new husband.
