Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, are overjoyed to announce the safe arrival of their baby daughter.
The news was shared by Buckingham Palace in a statement on Monday.
The Queen’s granddaughter gave birth to a healthy baby girl weighing 6lbs 2oz at 11.42pm on Saturday, September 18, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.
Royal commentator Roberta Fiorito shed light on the newest addition to the royal family, revealing that the baby girl has been given a title derived from her Italian heritage.
During an episode of the royally obsessed podcast, Ms. Fiorito expressed her excitement about the birth, stating that Beatrice and Edo’s daughter is now 11th in line to the throne and the Queen’s 12th great-grandchild.
She also mentioned that she couldn’t wait for the couple to reveal the name, recalling how Princess Eugenie took 11 days to announce her son August’s name on Instagram.
Ms. Fiorito speculated that the name could be something traditional like Elizabeth or Victoria, but with a unique Italian touch to honor Edoardo’s roots.
Some name guesses have included Francesca and Charlotta, among others.
What sets this baby apart from her cousin August is that she actually has a title.
The title, Noble Donna, which means noblewoman, is of Italian origin.
Princess Beatrice took to Twitter to express her delight, sharing the news of their daughter’s safe arrival.
She also expressed her gratitude to the midwife team and the hospital for their wonderful care.
It is understood that Beatrice has already returned home with her newborn, while her mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, is said to be absolutely over the moon about becoming a grandmother once again.
Sarah had just returned from a stay at Balmoral before meeting her new granddaughter.
Princess Eugenie, Beatrice’s sister, took to Instagram to send her heartfelt congratulations to the new parents.
She addressed them as “dearest Bibia and Edo” and referred to their baby girl as their new angel.
