The Army recently took down a notice from its website regarding the Princess of Wales’ participation in the Trooping the Colour event in June.
This decision was made after failing to secure approval from Kensington Palace.
Initially, tickets were being offered for sale on the official website for the military extravaganza scheduled for June 8, with promises of a special appearance by Princess Catherine.
However, as reported by the PA News Agency, the event details were disclosed due to Kate’s position as the Colonel of the Irish Guards, the regiment responsible for this year’s Trooping its Colour ceremony.
Additionally, the Ministry of Defence’s website mentioned the King’s attendance at the primary Trooping ceremony on June 15, also referred to as the Birthday Parade, as it commemorates the Sovereign’s official anniversary.
Bookings were open for a ticket ballot for this significant event.
The announcement created confusion on Tuesday as there had been no official validation from either Kensington Palace or Buckingham Palace.
Amid his ongoing cancer treatment, King Charles has deferred all public engagements.
Nevertheless, he did have a personal meeting with Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales is in the process of recovering from abdominal surgery and is not anticipated to resume her royal duties until post-Easter.
Princess Catherine has maintained a low profile since her last public appearance on Christmas Day in Sandringham, Norfolk.
However, unauthorized paparazzi managed to capture a glimpse of her near her residence in Windsor earlier this week.
In a photo released by TMZ, the princess was seen donning sunglasses while seated in the passenger seat of a vehicle being driven by her mother, Carol Middleton.
Last week, Kensington Palace addressed the social media speculations surrounding the royal’s health.
A spokesperson for Kate clarified, “We had made it clear from the beginning that the Princess of Wales would be absent until after Easter, and updates from Kensington Palace would only be shared when deemed significant.”
