Michelle Obama, Amal Clooney, and Melinda Gates have joined forces to launch the Get Her There campaign, through their respective organizations – the Obama Foundation’s Girls Opportunity Alliance, the Clooney Foundation for Justice, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
This collaborative effort aims to ensure that teenage girls worldwide have equal access to opportunities and thrive by focusing on improving girls’ education, ending child marriage, and promoting gender equality.
The recent kick-off event of the Clooney Foundation for Justice, hosted by Amal and George Clooney, did not include an invitation for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
The star-studded red carpet event took place at the iconic New York Public Library, where guests were guided indoors by a pathway illuminated with large glass-encased candles.
Excited fans gathered to catch a glimpse of their favorite celebrities attending the event, including Donatella Versace, Meryl Streep, Dua Lipa, Julia Roberts, and many more.
However, noticeably absent were the Sussexes.
It is reported that Prince Harry and George Clooney share a connection through their philanthropic work.
George Clooney co-founded Not On Our Watch, an organization dedicated to minimizing genocide in Sudan, as well as the Clooney Foundation for Justice with his wife Amal, a prominent human rights lawyer.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry co-founded Centre Bail, a charity focused on the mental health and well-being of HIV-stricken children in Lesotho and Botswana.
According to royal author Tina Brown, Meghan Markle formed friendships with celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney due to her newfound royal status after her engagement to Prince Harry.
While the Clooneys attended Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018, they reportedly told a fellow guest that they don’t know the couple well.
In the meantime, Meghan Markle is said to be hosting a luxurious charity dinner with exclusive guests.
The event, organized in partnership with the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana, will take place on November 29th at the Indianapolis downtown Marriott.
The Women’s Fund expressed their pride in welcoming Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, highlighting her role as a mother, feminist, and champion of human rights.
Rabbi Sandy Sasso, a renowned writer and community leader, will serve as the moderator for the evening.
The event, titled “The Power of Women: An Evening with Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex,” will be closed to the media.
Tickets for the event are available for purchase, starting at $5,000 per table, which includes food and drinks worth $2,500.
Meghan’s lifelong support for women and girls is evident in all her business and charitable endeavors, making her an ideal guest for the Women’s Fund.
Amidst recent controversy surrounding Meghan, particularly regarding her appearance on the Archetypes podcast, sources close to her have revealed that she chooses not to be demotivated by the backlash.
Despite the disappointment caused by negative criticism, Meghan has learned not to let it affect her or discourage her from pursuing her passions, especially considering the trivial nature of the criticism, which revolves around a job she left many years ago.
The collaboration between Michelle Obama, Amal Clooney, and Melinda Gates in launching the Get Her There campaign is a significant step towards empowering teenage girls worldwide.
Their efforts to improve girls’ education, end child marriage, and promote gender equality will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the lives of young girls, providing them with the opportunities they need to thrive and succeed.
As Meghan Markle continues to champion women’s causes and make a difference through her charitable endeavors, her involvement in the upcoming charity dinner further highlights her commitment to empowering women and girls globally.
