Speculation is rife that the Duke of Sussex may not reunite with his father, the King, and brother, the Prince of Wales, during his upcoming visit to the UK to commemorate the Invictus Games anniversary.
Despite the potential for a meeting between the Duke and the King, a journalist from the Daily Mail has cast doubt on the siblings coming together due to the Duke’s controversial memoir, “Spare,” which recently hit the shelves.
Expressing his anticipation, Duke Andrew Pearce shared his thoughts on the matter during a segment on a Daily Mail YouTube show.
He mentioned, “I hope the King sees him.”
Fortunately, Meghan will not be accompanying him on this trip; she will be staying in the United States with their children.
Sarah Vine, another contributor on the show, highlighted how people frequently inquire about the possibility of reconciliation given the circumstances.
She expressed skepticism, stating, “After everything he has said and done, I find it difficult to understand how.
The idea that it is even feasible is appealing to me.”
Ms. Vine further emphasized her perspective, suggesting that if she were in the King’s position, she would expect her son to stay with her rather than lodging in a hotel.
The Duke of Sussex’s previous brief visit to London in February saw him spending a mere 25 hours in the UK, during which he had a brief 45-minute meeting with his father at Clarence House.
During the Duke’s UK tour, Mr. Pearce dismissed the possibility of a meeting with his brother, citing Catherine’s ongoing treatment and recovery as factors linked to the Duke and his controversial book.
Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales engaged with well-wishers during his recent engagements in Newcastle, discussing the well-being of his wife and children.
The Duke is set to return to the UK on May 8 to attend the 10th-anniversary celebrations of the Invictus Games, a significant sporting event for wounded, ill, and veteran service members.
It remains uncertain whether other members of the royal family will join him for the event.
Scheduled to participate in a Thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, the Duke is expected to deliver a reading during the ceremony.
As rumors circulate about the Duchess staying in California with their children instead of accompanying the Duke, his sister-in-law, Princess Catherine, recently disclosed her cancer diagnosis.
This visit marks the Duke’s first trip to the UK since the announcement.
Following the ceremony, the Sussexes are slated to travel to Nigeria at the invitation of the country’s Chief of Defence Forces, who previously met Harry during the Invictus Games in Germany.
In light of these developments, uncertainty looms over the potential reunion between the Duke and his immediate family members during his UK visit.
