Speculation suggests that something may have occurred between him and Megan Markle, although the details remain unclear.

However, it seems evident that he was being used to Markle’s advantage.

An intriguing incident took place when Fitzpatrick invited her to an event where Liam Neeson was present.

Despite photographic evidence, Neeson denied any knowledge of Markle, leading to further curiosity surrounding their connection.

It turns out that Neeson is a close friend of the owner of Fitzpatrick’s hotel in New York City, and he referred to Markle as a “sugar baby” to the owner.

This statement adds credibility to the rumors linking her to the older man, who is indeed the proprietor of Fitzpatrick’s.

Additionally, Markle crossed paths with Rory McIlroy during her stay at the hotel.

According to Tom Bauer, Markle first encountered John Fitzpatrick and Rory McIlroy back in 2014.

At the time, Markle was starring in the television series Suits, and she and McIlroy were enjoying drinks at the bar of one of Fitzpatrick’s two New York hotels.

In a podcast interview with Irish journalist Charlie Bird, Fitzpatrick expressed his admiration for Suits and recounted inviting both Markle and McIlroy to dinner with friends.

He described Markle as brilliant and great fun, and even mentioned that he extended an invitation for her to visit the White House, where she had the opportunity to meet Barack Obama.

In the interview, Fitzpatrick humorously clarified that he was not dating Markle, emphasizing that they were simply good friends.

Another occasion where their paths crossed was at a fundraising event in New York, where Markle posed for a photo with Fitzpatrick and Liam Neeson, the renowned actor who portrayed Irish revolutionary leader Michael Collins in a film.

Following Markle’s whirlwind romance with Prince Harry, Fitzpatrick received an invitation to attend their royal wedding at Windsor Castle in May 2018.

During his conversation with Bird, Fitzpatrick described the wedding as incredible and disclosed that he stayed in a hotel alongside Markle’s Suits co-stars.

On a subsequent business trip to London, Fitzpatrick visited Markle at Kensington Palace.

He recounted that she initially appeared formal until the courtiers left the room, after which she became completely relaxed.

They engaged in conversation about mutual friends, including Rory McIlroy and his wife Erica Stoll.

Fitzpatrick humorously mentioned that he asked Markle how long they had before being interrupted, to which she glanced at her watch and replied, “We’ve got exactly 29 minutes, and then they’ll be back in for me.”

He acknowledged the challenges of their different lifestyles but emphasized the enjoyment they found in their normal conversations.

Tom Bauer recalled how Markle and Rory McIlroy first met in 2014 when he unexpectedly nominated her for the Ice Bucket Challenge.

According to Bauer, Markle insisted that McIlroy personally dump the ice on her at a friend’s apartment in New York, and he happily obliged.

At the time, McIlroy had recently ended his engagement with Danish tennis ace Caroline Wozniacki and was reportedly drawn to brunettes.

After completing the Ice Bucket Challenge video, which aimed to raise funds for motor neuron disease research, the pair went for a drink at the Fitzpatrick Hotel where McIlroy was staying.

Bauer mentioned that McIlroy appeared slightly worn out from a hectic night and had slipped to 101st place in the golf rankings.

Despite the fatigue, he chose to drive back to New York to meet Markle, resulting in a decline in his performance.
