Denise Welch, a prominent figure on Loose Women, disclosed her encounter with Prince Andrew back in 2019, showcasing her evident disapproval of the royal figure.

The actress, set to portray the late queen in an upcoming concert adaptation of Diana the Musical, expressed her discontent with Prince Andrew’s disrespectful remarks about Princess Diana, his deceased sister-in-law.

Reflecting on a confrontation aired on Loose Women, she recounted an evening where Prince Andrew, despite instructions to avoid discussing Princess Diana shortly after her passing, persisted in talking about her.

Denise, a charity patron present at the gathering, was appalled by his derogatory comments and did not hold back in expressing her displeasure.

She recalled a moment when, after a few drinks, she confronted Prince Andrew, who callously remarked to her then-husband, “rather you than me.”

This wasn’t the sole instance where Denise vocalized her grievances against Prince Andrew.

In July 2021, she reiterated her aversion towards him, highlighting past encounters that left her deeply unsettled.

The following year, in January 2022, Denise revisited her personal discord with Prince Andrew, lamenting his disrespectful remarks about Princess Diana in her presence.

She emphasized feeling dismayed by his disdainful attitude towards Diana, particularly in a social setting where she was present as a mere admirer of the late princess.

Penned by David Bryan and Joe DiPietro, and helmed by director Owen Horsley, the musical chronicles the life of the beloved Princess of Wales.

Kerry Ellis, known for her roles in Wicked and Anything Goes, and Maya Consabreve, an original cast member of Six, will portray the two Dianas alongside Denise’s portrayal of the Queen.
