Karen Spencer, the wife of Earl Charles Spencer, has broken her silence after her husband publicly announced their separation of 13 years.
As the looming divorce draws near, Karen, a social entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of Whole Child International, took to Instagram on Friday to express her gratitude towards all those who have extended their love and support during this challenging time.
In a heartfelt message accompanied by a collage of Summer Solstice photographs, Karen expressed, “I am truly touched by the overwhelming love and support.
I am deeply grateful for all the kindness shown to me.
This period has been incredibly significant for me, and I am currently in the process of reflection.
Expect to hear from me soon.”
The news of the couple’s breakup was disclosed earlier this month by Princess Diana’s younger brother to the Daily Mail.
Earl Charles Spencer, a British nobleman, expressed his sadness regarding the impending divorce, stating, “I simply want to dedicate myself to my children and grandchildren, and I sincerely wish Karen all the happiness in her future endeavors.”
When Fox News Digital reached out to Spencer for a comment, a representative did not respond immediately.
The marriage between the Countess of Spencer and the 9th Earl Spencer reportedly came to an end while he was in the process of writing his autobiography, titled “A Very Private School.”
In his memoir, Spencer revealed his experiences with childhood s**ual abuse, a trauma he had kept hidden for a long time.
Reflecting on his past, Spencer acknowledged the need for help following two unsuccessful marriages.
He admitted, “I was perplexed by my continuous romantic failures, profound unhappiness, and two divorces.
I felt a strong urge to provide for my children, which served as a catalyst for self-improvement.”
Spencer emphasized that his primary goal was to enhance himself for the sake of his children, although he remains uncertain about his success in that aspect.
The completion of his book marked a turning point in his life, where he adopted various supportive practices such as Tai Chi, breathing exercises, and effective treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder to aid his journey towards healing.
Married at Althorp House in June 2011, Spencer and Karen, both 52 years old, share a 12-year-old daughter named Charlotte Diana, honoring her late aunt, Princess Diana.
Karen’s former husband, Mark Gordon, a Hollywood producer, is the father of their two older children.
Recent reports suggest that Spencer is developing a close bond with Dr. Katjarman, a Norwegian archaeologist, indicating a newfound source of happiness in his life.
As Spencer navigates through this challenging chapter, it is evident that he is actively seeking ways to improve his well-being and move towards a brighter future.
The complexities of his past, intertwined with his current journey of self-discovery, highlight the resilience and determination that define his path forward.
