In a captivating new coronation portrait, three kings of the British monarchy, Charles III, Prince William, and Prince George of Wales, stand confidently before the camera.
This remarkable image, unveiled for the first time, holds great significance as it showcases the continuity and future of the royal lineage.
The last time a similar portrait was released was in 2020 when the late Queen Elizabeth posed with her three heirs, marking the beginning of a new decade.
Although she is no longer with us, her message lives on.
Captured by renowned society photographer Hugo Byrne, this portrait was taken last Saturday following King Charles’ coronation.
His Majesty is seated in the opulent throne room, adorned in his full regalia, including the robe of estate and the imperial state crown.
Holding the sovereign’s orb and sceptre with cross, he exudes regal authority.
The king sits upon a throne chair crafted in 1902 for the future King George V.
Prince William, the Prince of Wales and heir to the throne, stands beside his father, wearing the ceremonial dress uniform of the Welsh Guards and the order of the garter mantle.
On the other side, Prince George, second in line to the throne, dons the scarlet and gold uniform of a page of honor.
It is worth noting that despite his early shyness in front of the cameras, he appears remarkably at ease in this portrait.
Another official photograph captures King Charles and Queen Camilla, alongside their pages of honor and the ladies in attendance.
Queen Camilla looks serene, wearing Queen Mary’s crown, a beautiful Bruce Oldfield gown, and the robe of estate.
Standing behind her are her sister, Annabel Elliot, and her close friend, the Marchioness of Lansdowne.
Both ladies were also dressed by Oldfield for the occasion.
However, the true stars of this image are the eight young boys who served magnificently on the day, despite the weight of expectation.
Positioned on King Charles’ right are Master Ralph Ptolemish, Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, Master Nicholas Barclay, and Prince George of Wales.
