During her recent performance in London as part of her Eras tour, Taylor Swift, a well-known figure with a significant following among royals, managed to evoke strong emotions from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with an unexpected move.
The 34-year-old American pop icon captivated the audience at Wembley Stadium last Friday, showcasing her connection with the Prince of Wales and the royal household, while seemingly snubbing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
After the concert, the talented singer further solidified her positive rapport with the royal family by sharing a delightful selfie featuring herself alongside the Prince of Wales and his children, which appeared to have a profound impact on Meghan, the former star of Suits.
Despite attending Swift’s show at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles during the California leg of her tour in 2023, the Duchess of Sussex received no acknowledgment from the singer.
Known for her ability to command attention, the Duchess made headlines when she enthusiastically joined in singing along to Swift’s hit song from 2008, “You Belong With Me,” following an announcement by the singer encouraging the audience to reminisce about high school days.
Despite the Duchess’s playful antics, Swift remained composed and did not display any visible signs of amusement or acknowledgment towards her enthusiastic participation.
While the Duke of Sussex was away with his friend and Polo star Ignacio Nacho Figueras, the Duchess of Sussex attended the concert accompanied by her friend Lucy Fraser.
Reports emerged from the Wall Street Journal suggesting that Swift had declined an offer to appear on the Duchess’s Spotify podcast Archetypes, which has since been canceled.
In response to this claim, the Duchess made a public appearance at the Pop Stars event.
