Princess Kate, amidst her challenging battle with cancer, was warmly welcomed by a vibrant Wimbledon crowd, receiving a standing ovation as she graced the event for her second public appearance following her diagnosis.
The Princess of Wales had been absent from public view for over a month, with her previous appearance being at the renowned Trooping the Colour event on June 15th.
Accompanied by her daughter Princess Charlotte and sister Pippa Matthews, the royal figure was engrossed in the men’s singles final match between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic.
Having taken a step back from her royal responsibilities to prioritize her health after the cancer diagnosis, Kate’s presence at Trooping the Colour marked her first public outing in half a year and her sole engagement since the health revelation.
Despite this, sources close to the royal family hinted that the Princess had aspirations of participating in two to three more events during the summer season.
Kensington Palace confirmed the attendance of the Royals at the men’s singles final, where Kate traditionally presents trophies to the tournament’s winners, making it a speculated upcoming appearance for the Princess.
Accompanying Kate would have been her husband, Prince William; however, a clash in his royal schedule prevented his attendance at the final.
The Prince of Wales, serving as the President of the Football Association, was obligated to travel to Berlin in preparation for the Euro 2024 final featuring England against Spain.
Throughout the tournament, William has fervently supported England, and he is anticipated to be present at the stadium to cheer on the national team as they vie for victory under Gareth Southgate’s leadership.
