The future plans of the royal family may involve Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis renting a flat in Shoreditch, moving away from traditional palace living.
Renowned historian Kate Williams has proposed the idea of opening royal residences to the public to increase funds for the royal collection.
According to Williams, with more royal buildings accessible to the public, ordinary royals may find themselves relocating due to King Charles’ vision of a more streamlined monarchy.
Throughout history, queens have favored palaces as their primary residences, symbolizing grandeur and tradition.
In contrast, kings have often viewed palaces as symbols of power and prestige.
“Palaces serve as both historic treasures to be preserved for future generations and as significant revenue sources for the royal collection,” Williams expressed to Hello magazine.
King Charles aims to create a more efficient royal family structure, prompting the potential relocation of ordinary royals from palaces to alternative accommodations.
Currently, King Charles does not reside in Buckingham Palace, utilizing it primarily as an office space while undergoing renovations.
The approach towards Prince William’s living arrangements remains uncertain, raising questions about the possibility of Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis sharing a flat in Shoreditch in the future.
Clarence House, traditionally used as the London residence of the monarchs, serves as an official residence for King Charles, while Windsor Castle stands as another significant royal abode.
