The royal family came together over the weekend to honor and remember those who lost their lives in conflicts during remembrance events.
Princess Catherine, also known as the Princess of Wales, took her customary place on a balcony overlooking the Centre Hof in central London.
From there, she watched the emotional service led by King Charles.
As the bells of Big Ben tolled 11 and a single gun on horse guards parade was fired, two minutes of complete silence were observed in remembrance of all those lost in war.
Cameras captured a moving moment as the Princess appeared tearful during the service.
Afterward, she maintained a solemn expression as she watched her husband lay a wreath.
However, it was her sweet tribute to Prince William through her choice of attire that truly touched our hearts.
The Princess wore a hat that she had previously worn to attend her future husband’s passing out parade at Sanderhurst.
This marked the first public appearance of hers as William’s girlfriend, and now, 17 years later, she wore it again to witness her husband laying a wreath at the Cenotaph.
Both Catherine and Queen Camilla stood together on a balcony, dressed in elegant black coats and hats to protect themselves from the chilly weather.
They both adorned themselves with pearl jewelry.
Standing apart from them, almost at the end of the royal balcony, was Sophie, creating an unusual trio of royal brides.
Despite this, the two powerful women presented themselves as equals, displaying a strong and united front.
While Prince William’s wife maintained a solemn facial expression, Camilla wore a serene smile, radiating calm and quiet happiness.
Towards the end of the service, there was a special moment where Catherine seemed to remind Camilla of the hierarchy in a sweet way.
Due to the limited space on the balcony, only a few members of the royal family can stand on each one.
As per royal tradition, the order is determined by rank, which is why Camilla stands ahead of the others.
Catherine follows, as her husband is the heir to the throne.
Sophie, accompanied by Sir Timothy, stands on a separate balcony.
During the service, it seemed that both women acknowledged the late Queen’s death.
Camilla turned her head towards the interior, but it was the Princess of Wales who seemed to say, “after you,” as she also turned in the same direction.
In response, the now Queen bestowed a wide and affectionate smile, expressing gratitude, before elegantly stepping inside.
In contrast to her father-in-law and other members of the royal family, who wore a single poppy on their uniforms, Catherine chose to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the world wars and other conflicts by adding several poppies to her outfit.
Although the palace never confirmed it, one theory suggests that the multiple brooches worn by the royals were in honor of family members who fought and died in wars.
It is worth noting that Catherine rarely wears multiple poppies, as the late monarch would often display five poppies during such special services.
In 2019, during the Remembrance Sunday service, the Princess of Wales wore a particularly special brooch.
She selected the codebreakers brooch as a tribute to her grandmother Valerie Glassborough, her twin sister Mary, and her great aunt, all of whom served as codebreakers at Bletchley Park during World War II.
Since assuming her more senior royal role as the Princess of Wales, Catherine has increasingly showcased some of Queen Elizabeth’s most precious jewelry.
This trend continued at the Royal British Allegiant Festival of Remembrance on Saturday night, where the royals appeared to be wearing Queen Elizabeth’s three-strand pearl necklace.
