The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, have been barred from using footage from the Queen’s State Funeral and Platinum Jubilee for their upcoming Netflix docuseries, according to royal commentator Neil Sean.
It has been revealed that the couple wore microphones during both events, which led to their isolation from other members of the royal family.
Deanna Eppers on Quora also claimed that Meghan and Harry were seen with microphones during the platinum jubilee, providing a possible explanation for the royals’ avoidance of them.
During the funeral, Meghan arrived late wearing an ill-fitting white suit and was observed repeatedly adjusting her collar.
A rectangular box was visible under the back of her jacket, making her appear larger than usual.
Harry, too, was seen fussing with his collar and tie, with a wire occasionally peeking out.
Meghan had a wire protruding from beneath her collar, leading to speculation that they were equipped with recording devices for their Netflix project.
Aware of the possibility that Meghan and Harry might attempt to record them, the rest of the royal family deliberately refrained from engaging with the couple.
The only interaction observed was with Princess Anne’s children, as witnessed through an open window at Buckingham Palace.
However, Harry and Meghan felt humiliated by their seating arrangement at the church service, believing they deserved better seats closer to Prince Charles and Prince William.
Harry’s failure to comprehend his diminished role in the monarchy is seen as a lack of understanding of the hierarchical structure.
He sat where he belonged, next to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, as he no longer works for the monarchy after willingly stepping back.
Furthermore, it appeared that Meghan was wearing what seemed to be another recording device during official mourning events for Queen Elizabeth’s passing.
Alternatively, it could have been a Fitbit device attached to her abdomen with a belt.
This raised suspicions that Meghan was attempting to capture conversations during the funeral walkabout with Prince William and Catherine, the Princess of Wales.
However, no one in the family displayed any interest in looking at or conversing with Meghan.
In addition to these revelations, it has been reported that Harry and Meghan lack sufficient content to create an engaging docu-series about their lives, apart from footage related to the Invictus Games.
Netflix had anticipated Meghan’s close relationships with various royals, including the Queen.
However, witnessing the Sussexes being shunned by the entire family has made it clear that Meghan will struggle to film anything of interest or substance.
This poses a significant challenge for Netflix, which invested heavily in the couple but is unlikely to receive a satisfactory return on its investment.
Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan are facing criticism for allowing their negative portrayal of the royal family to become their modus operandi for staying relevant.
Royal author and commentator Richard Kaye emphasized that such attacks, especially following the Queen’s recent passing, could tarnish the Sussex brand, even in the United States, where their primary support lies.
The couple’s value now relies heavily on their continued attacks, leaving the question of their worth if they were to adopt a more positive stance towards Charles, Camilla, William, and Kate, while expressing genuine concern for global issues.
With the Queen’s demise, their golden US goose appears to have lost its allure, and they can no longer profit solely from exposing the alleged flaws of the royal family.
