The ongoing feud between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and senior members of the Royal Family took a public turn as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry publicly snubbed King Charles on his 75th birthday.
Despite privately extending an olive branch to the monarch, the couple chose not to release a public tribute to mark the occasion.
Yesterday, the King celebrated his milestone birthday and did receive a phone call from his youngest son, Prince Harry, to acknowledge the special day.
However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex refrained from making a public tribute, further fueling the tensions within the Royal Family.
The intention of Prince Harry to call his father on his birthday was made known when it was reported by the BBC on Tuesday morning.
Nevertheless, the Sussexes decided against publicly acknowledging the King, highlighting the ongoing rift between them and the rest of the Royal Family.
According to a source cited by The Sun, although the King was busy, he is known to be polite and loves his son and grandchildren.
It was implied that he would have taken the call on his birthday.
On the other hand, Prince Harry’s brother, Prince William, and his wife, Catherine, did make a public tribute to King Charles on his special day.
On Instagram, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared three photos of themselves with the King, accompanied by a heartfelt birthday message.
The caption read, “Wishing His Majesty the King a very happy 75th birthday.”
Interestingly, the selection of photos chosen by William and Kate appeared to be a subtle swipe at Prince Harry.
Notably, they excluded any photos featuring him in their social media post.
It is no secret that the Prince and Princess of Wales are not on speaking terms with Prince Harry.
In January 2023, Harry released his autobiography, which contained several attacks on his brother and sister-in-law.
