Prince William reportedly ignored multiple attempts by Prince Harry to contact him on the day of Queen Elizabeth II’s death, according to royal writer Omid Scobie.
Scobie, known for his biography Feeding Freedom on Meghan and Harry, has now published a new book about the royal family titled Endgame.
In excerpts from the book, it is claimed that Prince William disregarded text messages from Prince Harry, who was trying to reach out before his trip to Scotland.
This behavior was concerning and distressing to those close to Harry, who felt he was left completely alone on September 8, 2022.
Another royal source confirmed that William purposefully ignored his brother, indicating a strained relationship between the two.
Scobie further revealed that Prince Harry boarded the flight to Scotland without knowing if Queen Elizabeth II was still alive.
Despite numerous attempts by the royal family to contact him during the 70-minute flight, they decided to publicly announce the Queen’s death before informing Harry directly.
Upon his arrival in Scotland, Prince Harry received a text message from Meghan urging him to call her as soon as possible.
Shortly after, he received a message from the BBC notifying him of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing.
The book also alleges that Prince Harry was advised not to bring Meghan along, with Charles citing protocol as the reason.
A former palace aide stated that they did not want Meghan there, leaving her feeling unwanted.
Omid Scobie’s Endgame, which delves into the events surrounding Queen Elizabeth II’s death, is set to be released on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.
